    With the coding changes in 1.9 everything needs to be combed over and redone.
    We're talking time on a scale of years here.

    And that's why they should start now. They don't even have to release them serverwide, just have them ready.

    As there are new pro arguements and so few contra arguements (kindly due to ppl like @essem) there is no obvious reason (wich i didn't state) to keep 1.8 support so....
    this is kinda just up to the staff rn.

    Not yet, anyway, and certainly none of the reasons in the original suggestion. If we aren't flattening into one single version of mc then there's no need to eliminate them one at a time. The pros don't outweigh the cons, not even close, though they certainly will eventually.

    I don't think it's a huge deal, either, but it's not the most important thing that can be worked on.
