So, I want to give feedback about this half of 1st wynncon day, more especifically, constructive criticism (I'll say how to make things better, leading ways of improvement.)

1 - That's more to the people playing at Wynncon, I'm really pissed that people are saying: "This event is awful" etc., I've already done many events and it's really sad when someone complains without helping them on how to improve.

2 - You've been planning Wynncon for +8 months, but I can see that most of it was map work, yesterday I read "I'll check if the Scavenger Hunt hints are done", that doesn't work, you need to have those kinds of stuff planned at least 1 week before the event, you need to think about everything that can fail and everything that can be work.
tl;dr: you planned the map so much that the events had issues.

3 - You need experience, this event is probably the biggest that i've even seen in Wynncraft, you need someone who has already done large-scale events.

4 - Secrets, you wanted to hide what people were going to see at wynncon, there was a huge communication issue between planners and community, the community has to know about the event, rules, what's going to happen, etc with a huge amount of time before the event.

5 - Discord, you had only 1 channel where people were able to talk in, #general, you created announcements after I asked and didn't even use it, that's also a communication issue.

6 - Messages, every message was wrote at the same time you were creating them, you have to prepare the messages before the beggining of the event, including delay/something going wrong.

7 - Lag, I know it wasn't your fault, but lag lowered 99% of the hype and 50% of the player quantity also vanished.

8 - You had to close chat every 2 minutes because your discord wasn't prepared, you need to post pre-prepared messages on your discord channel.

tl;dr: Improve event management.

honestly, i just really want to help out and give people like enduh who get so much flack thrown their way a helping hand

 

2 - If I'm going to be honest, yes I totally agree. I was essentially all alone for planning, (a lot of unexpected irl things happened to me these past two weeks) which ties into your 3rd feedback message.
3 - We never EVER expected so many people. I looked back on previous 3rd party server events. Wynncon and Wynnterfest had no more than ~100 people show up. I was preparing for a slight drizzle when it reality it was a hurricane. I did what I thought best to do if something went wrong, but it obviously wasn't something I was prepared for.
4 - I completely agree and will go by this for when/if I ever do an event again.
5 - The discord was actually never planned to be opened, I first considered it when there was a request for it. I figured it would be a small chat to build hype and a special treat for donors who got a rank. But I failed to see the opportunity of creating a way to communicate that the thread did not have.
6 - This isn't 100% true actually, I had my lines in a doc ready to copy paste. However, there was a decent amount of improvision.
7 - You sent this before the day 1 cancel, but again we were totally ripped off and lied to by Sshockbyte. Even if we did do a stress test, it wouldn't have mattered because we got the highest plan they had to offer, which was still a lie.
8 - Im not sure what you mean, it was intended that we open the chat only for a bit after each speech. If you're talking about after that, it's because it was a method to deal with lag
Thank you for your feedback, you actually cared instead of writing a short "This sucks" "Fix the lag now" message.

I agree with this so much the map was so nice but the even management was terrible, also it wasn't really shockbytes fault

 

It really didn't go that well, not because of the hosts but because we got a rigged server provider that lagged so much it broke most of the stuff (especially command blocks)

It already ended, look at the schedule. I think you still can explore the map or practice parkour.

The Parkour Race did a shit on my face. ;(

tbh all of the giveaways felt clunky and/or were simply terrible

 

Here's what i did not like about wynncon
-1) Super laggy, and before you say it's shockbyte's fault, it really isn't, it's like buying the cheapest and crappiest blender at the store for your smoothie party of 200+ people, and then when the blender works, well, very cheap-like and crappy, you blame it. It's your fault for buying the worse blender.

-2) Unprepared, for an event with months and months of development it's incredibly unprepared, everyone was scrambling to solve everything, just boring, not supposed to offend anyone

-3) Giveaway was so bad, i cannot begin to explain to you, you absolutely CANNOT just say, ah this guy won! And then change the winner like 5 times, when someone wins they win, it's just completely scummy. In my personal experience, my little brother, spyro74, was really sad not to win anything, so then they did a scummy thing and said we are re-doing the giveaway cause of lag, YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE DONE THE GIVEAWAY IF THERE WAS LAG, now 20 people are sad that you lied to them about winning something. Anyways, my little brother won the fifth stack of the original giveaway, NOT this random dude called Fiw.
He was super happy because he doesn't play much, and now he was rich for a level 20 archer. He said he would play a lot more, and of course i was happy because that means i could play with him more often.
The next day, he was off the list, like what the actual _____ wynncon. And before you say they re-did the giveaway of yesterday, THEY DID NOT, everyone from the giveaway from yesterday, is still on the list, EXCEPT HIM, come on. I talked to Enduh and yosteric5, and i do understand they were getting spammed but still, they did not answer me, finally i found @xMC_Master11x, who at least responded to me, and told me just because he is a low level archer means he is an alt, well that's just great. And there really was no way to prove he wasn't an alt. So that happened. Sorry for a personal experience, the real problem for everyone is the first phrase of this chunky paragraph.

-4) The parkour was, well a little bit unfair, because there were idiots flipping the trapdoors making the jumps impossible. Also the levitation personally as a person who plays in 1.8.9 was frustrating but i got the hang of it quite quick.

-5) The chat was getting spammed SO BAD, you should have made the next message every like 10 seconds.

EDIT: And even if it was my "alt", @Villageacules told everyone that alts were allowed before the giveaway. And why would i still lie that it's my little brother after i am getting jack squat. If it was my alt i would admit it. And if it was my alt i still should have won because Villageacules said alt's were allowed. Great. I actually did have an alt, briqtriq, there, not spyro74

 

They cancelled the uhc... the one thing i came for...

 

I played on the server for more than 17 hours and I still didn't earn anything except a "Parkour cancelled" when I reach the end XD
