I like the idea of "side quests".
Maby needs abit of work but other then that it' just fine :D .

 

I really love the idea, but wouldn't a map push have to happen to replace and reprogram them to different places/quests? (I'm bad at command blocks so I don't know if what I said is true)

 

A map push has to happen to add new things, yes. Map pushes don't take very long though.

 

I feel that Quests are already side-quests; they just don't seem like it because there's no real storyline yet, so they're the only thing to do in Wynn when it comes to progressing.

Other than that, though, the idea of smaller, more optional quests is pretty nice. It may be hard to keep the rewards and actual quest content diverse, though.

Location: Rodoroc
NPC: Halin

[1/9] ???: Hey, you! The human over there!
[2/9] Halin: I'd hate to ask this of a weak human such as you, but i need your help.
[3/9] Halin: You see, i'm a Dwarven blacksmith.
[4/9] Halin: Recently my forge has been running a bit... cold.
[5/9] Halin: Maybe because I didn't put it out after i went to sleep...
[6/9] Halin: Maybe because I dropped my ale in it when i was drunk...
[7/9] Halin: I dont know, all i know is that its cold, and that needs to be fixed.
[8/9] Halin: So i need [16 blaze powder] to heat it up again.
[9/9] Halin: Will you help me? [Yes] or [No]

If accepted
[1/5] Halin: Great!
[2/5] Halin: You can find the blaze powder by killing blazes around the area.
[3/5] Halin: Remember, i need [16 blaze powder] and i need it fast!
[4/5] Halin: Go! There's not a moment to lose!
[5/5] Halin: *He shouts after you.* And try not to die!

If denied
[1/6] Halin: Oh... ok then.
[2/6] Halin: No, its ok, i don't mind.

[3/7] Halin: Awhh, that's *hic* great, thats greaaat.
[4/7] Halin: Thank yew so muuch!
*He hugs you very tightly, and you look around uncomfortably.*

[6/7] Halin: Wots that? You expected sume *hic* paey?

*He tries to run, but ends up passing out and dropping some emerald blocks.*

I love the idea of getting stuff like wisdom potions with these side-quests/encouters!

Hey there,

I like the idea of some form of smaller scale repeatable quest. It definitely seems like it would add something to do more as oppose to just "quest finished, that's that done and put away to one side". I think as long as these are kept as, as you said, smaller scale quests with smaller rewards, this could be a very good addition.

 

Side quests sounds amazing. Something pretty cool to do when I don't feel like doing an actual quest.
I'm not sure about repeatable though, it'll definitely have to be balanced somehow where the rewards aren't farmable, but the quest is still worth doing.

This seems interesting. I'm guessing that they would only be unlocked after a certain level, and in a certain town/city/village/area/WHATEVER.
