Oh ok. But where do they appear? As in like, are they in one place forever, and if you wanted to find one miniquest you can just get the coords and walk to it?

Ok, i just needed clarification. One more question though; will the coordinates be posted on the wiki, or are they allowed to be shared with other people? (Well probably imo) and the reason why i was confused, is because a random encounter is not a random encounter if they are in a predetermined place and you don't really "encounter" them, also since it's not random.

Well PerfectlyColored has a point here. For the first two months or so, yes it WILL be a "random encounter". However once people write down the co-ordinates for each quest, don't they become unofficial quests, with no hint to where they might be? However a person could easily look it up on the Internet if anyone posted anything, so I think change the name of your "random encounter" to "side quest", or make it bannable to reveal the locations of these "random encounters".

    Constructive criticism much?

Sorry, I had to say it.

But for a lot of people, 10 EB is a lot. I spent 2 EB and got 10 lvl45 potions. (Cuz assassins need a lot of those). What I'm trying to say, is that this is an awesome idea, but a little bit of tinkering could help. My suggestions:

    Lower the rewards OR
Make the NPCs spawn in random locations, changing every week, and they would pick from a pool of quests in their area. Good idea? That way people can't pinpoint the locations and farm like crazy. (Like you said, the quests would be reset weekly, and that's when the NPCs would change.)

That's just my ideas on making them more random.

But for the rewards, random encounters usually give a little bit of exp, a small trinket, or a little bit of money. Not enough that it could boost your progress far ahead, but enough that you can do something with the reward. (Sell it, lvl up with it, buy with it.)

I think you are being a little too overprotective of your ideas here. It was originally a good idea, and it still is, however you should listen to people's suggestions. If you didnt want any feedback (or constructive criticism) then why make a thread on it? That's all I really can say.

The name does matter. You can't call it a random encounter if it is an NPC in a predetermined place (not random at all, and YES I KNOW IT'S NOT IN THE QUEST BOOK), and will soon be on the wiki anyways. Side-quests would really be a better name. And i'm just trying to improve! You even said in your main post that you are accepting constructive criticism, and I think side-quests or mini-quests would be a more fitting name than random encounters, which is more of a thread clickbait then an actual random encounter. :/. But i'm not saying your idea is bad, it's just kind of misleading. I like it, and I think it would add something better to the game as all quests are basically just in the quest book now, and you try to farm all of them. It would add something new to the game. Anyways, that's just my suggestion. I know you might ignore this, but whatever.

    If you really want a suggestion other than changing the name here it is;

To make it a "random encounter", how about there are 200 locations in the wynncraft world where the NPCs can spawn, and every day it spawns 100 NPCs in a random location out of those 200 locations. If you've already done the quest, then it would say "Hello, we meet again" or something like that. If you reset it every week, it would be kind of weird, because they wouldn't remember you and you would have to complete it again... also people would go on "random encounter NPC" runs, where they complete the quests super quickly and get tons of le because each NPC gives you 10 eb or more, (maybe decrease the reward?). It would really be fine if they were just regular quests just not listed in the quest book.

    TL;DR
    Decrease the rewards
Don't reset it every week, and just make it regular quests not listed in the quest book.

They're not going to move... Just randomly change location. Basically a teleport everyday. But since you're totally not going to change it, i'll just stop.

Oh, I didn't notice you would need a map change, I didn't think that through. Ok then. Well I still don't think they should be reset every week, as it's kind of weird because they're memory was lost, they don't remember you at all :P (Also wouldn't that require a map change again? Idk), Also, like i said, maybe the location of these side quests are not supposed to be shared, only with yourself, because otherwise people would go on encounter runs where they get tons of le (like i said before), so you don't need to change the reward, i'm just addressing a possible issue in your suggestion that might be too overpowered. (Like how people go on lootchest runs because pretty much all of the tier 4 and tier 3 loot chest locations are on youtube .-.)

Answering all questions here, calmly and clearly.
I would like to continue getting suggestions and feedback, but keep it unrelated to the location and name. Reward suggestions are accepted, and I will now be accepting player created examples. Of course, I will edit them though.

I am willing to listen to suggestions, but if I deny a suggestion then that is that. Suggestions that I particularly like will be added, ones that I don't will not be.

This idea has been suggested before, and unfortunately I am denying it. Making them move would require an extensive amount of work and development, it's simply unethical and isn't worth it. As for the rewards, they can be changed to fit certain areas, but Cinfras is level 75 and the sword is not easy to get. It costs 5EB itself so in reality the reward is only a mere 5EB, which is by no means a lot.

Coordinates will not be given what-so-ever. They can be shared among people, but it's not advised. The name is just a name, it will not change what the idea is.

You would find them randomly, as they are random encounters. They would have pre-determined locations but those locations would not be disclosed in any way.
I understand after a while they would be known, and with that I am willing to add maybe that every two months they are changed and new ones are added.

From what you're saying, calling this idea "Random Encounters" doesn't seem to fit it well since their location and quests aren't exactly "random". If we were to move npc locations and quests for every random encounter weekly, that would take a ton of work.

When I saw the title of this, I was thinking of random mob encounters. I remember back in the day when people spread stories about a rare-spawning zombie that wears a pumpkin on its head, and if you killed it, there's a small chance of getting that pumpkin. The pumpkin was said to be sold for a ton of emeralds.
Maybe the random mob encounters could drop collector items that can be sold at the collector merchants in gavel, which would make them useful in a way. To extend this idea, we can have collector merchants in the Wynn province basing around Bob.
