Marcus lunged for the stick and tried to grab it, then put himself in hugging distance of the guard.

 

In response, the guard tried to pull his arm with the stick away, then spun and elbowed Marcus in the abdomen.

As he gritted through the pain, Marcus understood that this man was an experienced fighter— but not as strong as the people who had captured him.

 

"Right... well, if magic doesn't work..."

I try to grab him by the ankle and suplex him.

 

Marcus pulled a dagger from his pelt, and tried to hide it by continuing to hound the man, putting his arms around the man's back, and leaving no space between their chests.

 

"A rewind. Well, that's interesting." He chuckles.

He climbs on the table and walks towards the boy. "How about you give us that coin back and no one will get hurt."
He holds out his hand.

 

"Can you just not?" I make a vague gesture pointing to the entire room "All I wanted was some tea"

 

I throw my (hopefully still hot ) tea at him.

 

"Haha!" The boy laughed and jumped over Carol's sword swing, then dodged the tea thrown at him. With only a second of his foot making contact with the ground, he leapt up again and jumped over Tyrinel's grasp— and then was hit by Archibaud as he swung his fist at him.

"Ugh!" He gave a cry before his body was thrown to the other side of the room, crashing into the furniture loudly. The others quickly went towards where he had fallen, weapons and magic ready.

"...ahaha, wow.... I thought my arms were going to rip off just by.... ugh, blocking." The boy leapt back up and said painfully, holding his arm where he had blocked Archibaud's fist at the last second. He glanced at the people in front at him, who were all glaring at him with hostility.

"I can't do that, sorry. It's work." The boy smiled apologetically and patted the pocket on his pants.

"Guys, don't forget her up there." Kayde muttered, reminding everyone of the girl who was stuck to the ceiling. She was only watching, with somewhat an amused look.

"Who hired you?" Diabel asked, making his spirits flare up for intimidation.

"No, seriously, I can't answer that. I'll be like, so dead. The Eight Fingers are really scary, you know?" The boy made an uncomfortable smile.

Kayde froze as he heard that. He slowly turned to the boy, with slightly shaking hands. "......Eight Fingers....?"

The man grunted in pain as he tried to escape from Marcus's grip. The metal stick clattered to the ground as the guard grabbed at Marcus's arms and trying to pry them away. By then, the other guards had taken notice, and another two more were entering the room.

 

"Alright, we'll do it your way then."

Annoyed he walks to the boy and grabs him by the throat, lifting his body. His other hand is on the boy's mouth.
"You're going to give us that coin back or otherwise I'll snap you neck like a twig. Got that?!"

He gives a quick glance at the girl.
"Make a move and he's done for!"

 

(Pretty much, but now there's about to be a blade in his back.)

Marcus stuck the dagger in the man's shoulder blade and tried to drive it downwards, while turning himself so the embraced guard was between him and the other two guards.

 

"Awwww, you got caught. What's ya gonna do?" The girl called, to which the boy, who with a face slowly going pale, managed to shrug back.

"Agh.... ok, ok..... hah... let me go.... please.... it, hurts....?"

 

I keep a very close eye on the girl

 

He loosens his grip around the neck and makes the boy able to stand on the ground.
"Hand it over!"

 

One of the two guards that had entered threw throwing picks at Marcus, who used the guard he was holding to block it. He gasped and blood spattered down on the ground. There were screams amongst the people.

 

Marcus let go of the man, kicking him towards the two guards as he dashes down to grab the long stick, before standing up again to face the guards.

 

"I will keep an eye on you from up there, don't try anything while you're stuck in a place I can shoot you from." I say to the boy as I take off, to look the girl in the eyes.
"You seem to know more about whats going on, mind telling me what?" I ask her, angry
