Your squad is quite nice! Global is rushing to catch up with Japan, so Mechalillo should be good in the long run! I think you should add more diversity to your team though. Maybe a water type will do you good? Or a healer!
I'm actually planning on keeping that as a scout squad and creating more squads that each have only units of a certain element.
That team could possibly get a totem with maybe 1 or 2 gems down the drain if you don't run into a light or dark one. :)
Right now I'm trying to get a Fire Idol to evolve Lava and get all of them to Max level before attempting to get a totem.
