Yeah but like so does water and that doesn't have like 50 grams of sugar per bottle... Or whatever substance they put in sugar free soda to make it taste decent.
I'll give my two cents on soda and taste and whatnot. I think the big thing is that sodas are carbonated (fizzy), which changes the flavor slightly (flat soda with no carbon IS gross) and makes the drinks more interesting than plain water, juice, or milk.
Water tastes like nothing, which is good.
I don't get soda too often, but if I do, it's Sprite or one of the dozens of orange soda flavors (you know what I mean - Fanta, Sunkist, Crush, Miranda, etc). I despise Coke/Pepsi and shudder even thinking about Mountain Dew.
What's nice about Sprite is it has the lemon flavor that's hard to get with making something like lemonade. I just like orange, too. However, the carbonation in soda overwhelms me very quickly and often I can't even make it through a full can.
I'd take water or chocolate milk over that any day.
