I once saw another player suggest that the ocean is an outdated idea. This concept partially draws inspiration from that.

When developing a storyline in the deep sea, we need to consider its inhabitants. For this purpose, let us tentatively call them the merfork.

The merfolk cannot use magic. There is a story behind this. They were originally villagers. Driven by greed, they wished to explore the deep sea in search of its resources, but they knew it was not an environment where villagers could survive for long. However, an ancient researcher once created a potion that allowed breathing underwater, and together with several villagers, he settled in the deep sea and continued his research. They only discovered the side effect—loss of magical ability—when they tried to return to the surface.

As a result, their civilization became completely separated from the surface world, and over time they developed a large and unique society.

This civilization is different from any in Wynn or Gavel. Although they lack innate magical ability, they can harness magic from other livings or objects and use it by infusing it into “potions”. Their civilization is fundamentally centered around potion-based technology.

In the largest city, towering buildings line the skyline, and various fields of research flourish. The villagers living here are highly diligent and ambitious, unlike typical villagers. Most buildings are black in color to maximize energy absorption from the limited sunlight, and because they are not significantly affected by gravity in the same way, tall structures are common.

    Meets with the deep ocean

The player meets a villager at Karoc Quarry who mentions the need to utilize deep-sea resources due to a shortage of materials. While investigating further, the player hears stories about a researcher who ventured into the deep sea long ago. The player then visits the laboratory where this researcher once worked, and after searching through documents, discovers a recipe left behind by them. As usual, the player eventually ends up heading into the sea.

    Quests

In this region, there are conflicts arising from laws meant to conserve magical resources, which in turn place hardships on local residents. However, from the perspective of the government, the conservation of magical resources is a critical issue threatening the sustainability of civilization.
There are also issues such as discrimination against those unable to create potions, and illegal trade of dangerous potions.

In addition, beyond cities and major points of interest, the seabed itself is decorated with additional content such as gathering spots and grinding spots, ensuring that the ocean as a whole becomes a meaningful and engaging region rather than outdated content.

We don't take suggestions like this-- We couldn't take a suggestion like this. Suggestions on what to do with the story conflict with the actual plans and lore we have.

Okay, the story have to be considered again.
But isn’t potion-based civilization and its background innovative?

Suggestions for entire region and major plots are never considered, period. Similarly, quest and class suggestions are not taken. Such ideas are instead directed to the fanwork board.

I think the largest suggestion I've identified being implemented from the forums was the guide rooms before raids, and Purple Emerald fully mocked them up in that suggestion.

Corkus is really old, and honestly I keep forgetting about its origin story. Call it a fluke. In any case, the amount of quality Wynn puts into its updates now def. precludes a Second Corkus Incident.
