It would be cool if there was a class of mob known as "Polymorphic" mobs, who can change their element randomly to become weak/strong against different elements in a pinch.

These mobs wouldn't be necessarily prevalent throughout the world, but rather pose as incredibly strong rare mobs as well as maybe some mini-bosses that can appear throughout the world.

~Here are some examples of a Polymorphic mob~

    1. Polymorphic Assailant
Changes Strength/Weakness every 7 hits of damage
    HP: 200,000

    2. Polymorphic Paladin
Changes Strength/Weakness every 10 hits of damage
    HP: 400,000

    3. Polymorphic Scout
Changes Strength/Weakness every 3 hits of damage
    HP: 110,000

Now these mobs, to prevent lag from switching element so often, wouldn't spawn commonly at all. The chance of finding them would be about 0.5% spawn rate per chunk of mob spawns (if that's how it's calculated at all, fix it if I'm wrong). The polymorphic mobs would drop more emeralds than regular mobs, and have a higher chance of dropping ingredients, armor, and weapons.

    LORE:
The ancient ability of polymorphism is one that you are born with. It was the result of a random mutation that occurred within a specific breed of monster indigenous to the Canyon of the Lost. It is unknown how monsters are born this way, as there have been no studies on their DNA, as they are too dangerous to try and pursue. Polymorphism has been speculated to be an automatic defense mechanism that protects these monsters from specific elemental harm.

Actually pretty cool idea. Could maybe change element when you deal damage to them instead though? I feel like that would make them possibly slightly less laggy, though if you're using faster weapon speeds with a melee build it may problematic.
Either way +1, I like this

This could be made with just phases, and since it's about the amount of hits taken, Heavy Melee builds will be able to get a large chunk of the enemy's hp/kill it before it transforms, but fast melee builds will have a lot more trouble with the elements. Still a decent idea.
