As the name suggests, in quests or those white-named NPCs, the player would have the option to pick dialogue. This would mean that you give an 'impression' on the NPC, meaning they can either like or dislike you, which would inturn, make them say something else and maybe even give you a lower reward in quests. I feel this would create immersion and 'enhance' (to a degree), the wynncraft experiance, as I feel players would prefer to say their own opinion to an NPC instead of them getting the usual response of "You'll help? Great!", etc.

All in all, not really game enhancing feature but something small that, in my opinion may make the quest more enjoyable and engaging for most. It would also mean quests are more memorable as each player may get a different, personal response, instead of the factory formulae response.

while things like this exist in many games, I never personally thought it positively affected my experience much. in games more story oriented and focused on player choice, it's a fine mechanic, but wynncraft quests are more like some fun gameplay with a story reasoning tagged on a lot of time. I just feel this would be a bit unnecessary of feature to sink so much time in to, just about every quest and future quest would need loads more dialogue and possibly some minor story or progression reworks. if the CT can manage to make this work then that's great, but in its current state I just don't think this feature would integrate nicely in to wynn without some massive changes to content and design philosophy.

Whilst this is a good idea I think Wynncraft's simplistic and quirky nature wouldn't really work with this to be honest. Plus this would be quite difficult to implement

If it affected the outcome of the quest at all, this would definitely be pointless. If not it might be a cool addition, but I doubt it would make too much of a difference.

This is actually something Nova and me looked into a very long time ago.

I think what I got out of our conversations generally was that while it is possible, a mass amount of it could lag the server.
Me and Silver Mirror also talked about this once, and his argument was something along the lines of "Does it fit Wynncraft as a game though?"
So, as weird as this may seem to some, I'm going to say 'choice' doesn't fit Wynncraft, however, it could fit its openness.

Wynncraft fundamentally is a game about adventure and exploration. Its music, mechanics, and theme seem to fit this fairly well.
So while choice isn't the correct way to go about this, it could also a sense of openness and adventure if used correctly.
For example, if instead of the Guard NPC telling you about each area you can go from Ragni, you could allow the player to ask about the direction they want to travel in.
It's something the recent Outer Wilds did during its opening act when it asks you where you want to go, it gives you a bunch of suggestions, disguised as your answers to the question.

That's not to say choice can never work with Wynncraft, obviously, there is some quest with some minor choice, which this suggestion could improve upon fine as well.
Just suggesting that adventure could be the main focus of this suggestion.

Personally I think this really could only work if it like effected the outcome of the quest. Say maybe a minor choice that changed which cave you went into or a major choice that determined who lives and who dies. That kind of thing would be super cool but if it's just dialog with no change it really wouldn't enhance the game much in my opinion.

yeah, but everyone would always choose whatever option rewards the better stuff, which kinda invalidates the whole thing

I'd like to thank everyone here for the feedback given.

I disagree. Wynncraft is an mmoRPG, which means role playing game. The reason why I think that this would be a cool addition would be the fact that everyone's game is slightly more personalised. People who purposely look up the right option (and i'll be honest, in the witcher so do I, if Gwent cards are at stake!), simply want the most money or the best weapon, which kind of invalidates the point of an RPG. Since it is a role-playing game, the player has the choice to pick what they want.

Yeah I agree, I think it could fit for sure, but would be very difficult to implement. We actually sort of have this in a couple of quests like in Iron Heart part 2 where you choose who to side with.

Most people will choose the option that leads to the better item/reward/whatever, and that will always be true. There isn't much "choice" in Wynn already, and the aldorei quests kinda showcase how bad this can turn out. There was kind of another thread about this a while ago https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/multiple-choice-quests.262262/
It's a waste of time and effort from the GMs to make these quests imo. The only good implementations of this are an iron heart II and sort of underice. An iron heart II does it really well, as both items have their uses (although one way gives a decent bit more emeralds) and that's my main problem with this is that it's more work for minimal use. I would be fine with seeing these if they had actually balanced rewards, but the thing is most don't so it doesn't exactly convince me to want more of them.
