For any veterans here, I'm sure you remember pre-Gavel how potions would drop from mobs. This was another reason why grinding was a huge pain because potions couldn't stack and would take up so much inventory space really fast. Not to mention it made the game 10 times easier because you never had to buy potions or carry around that much because you got too much from killing mobs.

Then Gavel came, and this feature was removed. People could grind way longer without their inventory filling up more than once, and emeralds had more of a use because you actually had to buy potions.

Now after the Gameplay update, for some reason they reversed this decision. While it isn't as bad in the endgame, it still ruins the gameplay for the aforementioned reasons above. So what I propose to do is to remove potions from mob drops. That's it. I really can't think of any negatives, though give your thoughts about this in the comments.

I enjoy the potions, usually because I always forget to buy them or I'm being reckless.

Maybe, but I still like the idea of having it required to buy potions. If it was decreased, what should it be decreased to and how should it scale per level?

I don't necessarily think they should removed from loot chests as you have the option of leaving them, but definitely tone down the drop rate. Another thing is the potions that drop need to be a bit closer to the level of the area it dropped in. It's kinda annoying to be going round a level 75 area and be getting level 80 potions.

It would still cause inventory filling problems due to the number of types of potions you can acquire, with so many level tiers, and so many types of especially skill potions.
It would also cause a bit of a problem with stocking up on ridiculous numbers of potions, which would remove a lot of skill. At the moment, you don't want to be using too many health potions - they fill up your inventory if you need too many, and you need to refill your hotbar whenever you consume a lot in one combat situation, potentially dangerous. This means you can't be over-reliant on them, which means conserving health or regaining it - this is a key thing we don't want to lose.

I 100% want thid, I loved that you had to buy potions and it made a subtle money sink
Now you can easily find potions without buying them... If they really want to keep this, then at least decrease the chance as other mentioned

    ok let me rephrase

id rather jump into a whole pit of mobs and spam spin attack on them in herb cave

instead of playing careful and using the so-called safespots (which i know about) while barely killing the desired amount of mobs.

but regardless, I can see where you're coming from, but in my opinion potions are necessary.

I agree pots shouldnt be removed

    just reduce the amount

I mean you can pot farm from mobs

    heal pot merchants are useless

    just reduce the rate

Then you would have to buy potions or get them from loot chests then. Potions aren't expensive and this isn't getting rid of potions. The fact that you can grind enough potions that you never have to buy them and they become an annoyance makes the game way too easy.

no man, when I'm grinding I go through a potion every few minutes, and they don't drop enough for me to keep that rate up
I'd say either keep it the way it is, or buff chances
There's no need at all to pick up every potion you see, so inv clogging is mostly your fault
