Neutral Powders!

Hello everybody!!

Today, my friend was putting some t6 powders on his Gaia, and I realized that he has no neutral damage left! Having only elemental damage can leave you vulnerable to many mobs. This is why I am introducing...

Neutral Powders!

They work like any other powder, you can apply them to get a certain percent of elemental damage to be turned into neutral damage! They also add some extra damage just like elemental powders. Yes, they have specials too!

For armor, I think that they could turn some percent of elemental defense into health! This is just an idea.

With neutral powders, you can have a weapon that gets benefits of powders, but still has a lot of neutral damage!

Perhaps, but it does have the potential to be too OP, you specialise in elements so that you are not a god against everything. It could make sense in a lore perspective, mix 5 Tier 6 powders of every element together and you gain 5 Tier 6 Neutral Powders back.

 

I like this idea, but the reason powders exist is so that you get good at 1 element. If you could just get lots of extra straight damage and health, than you would just become to OP.

 

Or just don't put all 3 powders

Sounds like a good idea, though it kinda OP and negates the whole point of elemental powders. Powders are meant to be a trade-off because while you gain an advantage over mobs with little to no elemental defense, you make yourself more vulnerable to mobs and players with high defense (*cough* Qira). Adding a way to therefore add a damage type that affects all mobs/players will just lead to people to just using neutral powders

Made the idea a while back, then turned it into the loose materials, you are a bit late.

I agree with the idea of adding nuetral damage however as one of the comments on my thread, powders are magical, and wouldn't do basic damage. The loose materials gives a similar concept but with a nice and different item system to go with it.

If the thread wasn't in the grave i'd change it, as i made there be too many items than reasonable.

Elemental powders take out some neutral damage and add even more elemental, neutral would do vise versa. This would mean adding both over and over could multiply total damage. This would make items like empire builder or matryoshka shell extremely overpowered.

 

Why not just turn some elemental dmg into neutral dmg? Like 10-15% at LV 5.

 

Since Neutral damage would be OP with powders, just change the formula for it a bit. T1 - 1% Neutral damage increase, T2 - 2%, T3 - 3.5%, T4 - 5.5%, T5 - 7% and T6 - 13%.. That way it's just a little more balanced without the elements being involved with the " new " powder. Since T4 powder takes like 22% Neutral to (blah blah blah) element.. If I calculated this correctly(which I know I probably didn't), a weapon that does 247-296 damage will do roughly about 271-320 with 1 T6 Neutral powder.

The reason no armor has neutral defense is because it's meant to be a constant that is not effected by elements. Adding neutral powers would aweful as it's basically taking what supposed to be an underlying constant and turning it into another elemental variable.

Although neutral powders would make the game a lot easier it is just too powerful for bosses. For example qura, she has every elemental defense and takes most damage from neutral attacks allowing you to pretty easily solo her instead of finding friends and fighting as a team wich allows for player interaction.
