Pets & Horses Return The Black Horse Merchant

The current cost of breeding higher tier horses is prohibitive, as @YunoFuckingGasai showed in his thread, Horses Breeding Prices. YunoFuckingGasai was going to calculate the cost of breeding horses when VIP was around, with its black horse merchant, however, I was already working on that at the same time. I posted a thread on the cost of breeding horses when there was a black horse merchant in VIP town, however, I really messed up the mathematics. Today, I revamped that post with the mathematics corrected. (I hope.)

The current average cost of breeding a:
Black horse is 2Le 16EB; a
Chestnut horse is 16LE 20EB; and a
White horse is 118LE 62EB.

When the black horse merchant was around, the average cost of breeding a
Black horse was 1LE, the price was set; a
Chestnut horse was 6LE 60EB; and a
White horse was 50LE 34EB.

The *market prices of black horses is between 1 and 2LE, depending upon how much experience the horse has. For chestnut horses, the price is between 9 to 12Le, varying as above, with black horses. For white horses, the price is between 50 and 64LE, varying as above, also. Now, the current market prices for all of the higher tier horses is considerably depressed over their value, if they are bred, now, without a black horse merchant, unless you get very, very lucky when you breed horses. When the black horse merchant was around, selling any of the higher tier horses was at least a profitable business, on average.

To sum it all up: we either need the black horse merchant back in order to make sense of the current horse prices, or we can start raising the price of higher tier horses to where they make sense with the current costs. I'm saying thanks to the latter idea, as those prices are prohibitive.

Pretty sure it was stated somewhere that VIP town and it's inhabitants were going to make a comeback (probs before 9/7 or in a thread that i can't find) if not then, this is still a good idea

 

I don't remember seeing the "inhabitants" part. If the idea of bringing the black horse merchant wasn't being considered, I hope this helps getting it considered. If it already was, at the least, it shows why the merchant is needed.

 

Not sure where you got those numbers. Should be:
Chestnut = 6 le, 60 eb
White = 52 le, 2 eb

How did you get your numbers?
I used algebra.

Let d = one white horse

A = 24 eb or 0.375 le
B = 1 le
Still follow?

20(b) = 5(b) + 3(a) + 2(c)
20(1) = 5(1) + 3(0.375) 2(c)
20 = 5 + 1.125 + 2(c)
20 - 5 - 1.125 = 2(c)
13.875 = 2(c)
6.9375 = c
c = 6 le, 60 eb

20(c) = 5(c) + 3(b) + 2(d)
20(6.9375) = 5(6.9375) + 3(1) + 2(d)
138.75 = 34.6875 + 3 + 2(d)
138.75 - 34.6875 - 3 = 2(d)
101.0625 = 2(d)
50.53125 = d
d = 50 le, 34 eb

Anything that got the numbers I provided were correct. You can't get 2 different numbers for the same average

 

Pretty sure the Ternaves merchant sold a black horse for 1 LE.

 

Only sold brown. Black was VIP town.

As to this statement, you are obviously incorrect. The method used to breed the horses has an effect on the average cost of obtaining higher level horses, as I've shown in my thread, above.

I'd love to help you with whatever misunderstanding you have, however, you have to help me, here. Please, make direct and clear reference to what you are referring to, and I'll try to explain what I am saying, as best as I can. I could try to guess at what you mean, but that wouldn't be fair to either of us.

This would make high tier horses way too cheap

 

This would make the cost of higher tier horses return to what they were, before the black horse merchant disappeared with the destruction of VIP Town. It would have little, if any, effect on the price of higher tier horses as those prices were set when the black horse merchant was in existence.
