Shepherd is definitely on the list of the ultimate abilities that need reworking. I went with the three in this post because they have a common problem that I wanted to address.

If I were to change Shepherd, I'd turn it to an ability similar to Trapper's Beast Lore where it would instead increase the maximum number of each summon you can have present.

In terms of a new summon, though, I currently don't have a good idea. I made Idol of the Rose where you can summon a defensive Idol with Nature's Jolt, but Nature's Jolt has... problems of its own.

In my opinion, this failed. It is the same as Twain's Arc, which to me sounds like using an ancient artefact.

I see your point (and it is a very good one :D), but I am unsure as to how to achieve it. Twilight's Arc sounds like an extension of the original one, but also confusingly close to it. Twilight Arc loses some of the mystery, it suggests a phenomena in the sky, or perhaps using twilight as a bridge between two points. Arc of the Twilight sounds better, it seems to show Twilight as something more than a short period of time.

I think the last might be the best, if that sounds good to you.

the acrobat abilities were great, although flow state having no particles and the same sound cue as lacerate is kinda sad
    but gameplay-wise they are amazing

nightcloak knife is pretty neat but it doesn’t fit the playstyle and feels unrewarding
suffers the same problem as current Timelock, Crep ray, etc, which is taking away power and leaving you weak afterwards
it also just makes the playstyle even more clunky imo
its interesting but definitely did not fix shadestepper

and bamboozle was good, but because of the damage nerf it isn’t worth using anymore
although, it might be with what me and @ChrisWildfire have planned ;)

Not exactly, shadestepper was bad after update and acrobat is good now and many people like it. The problem with trickster is that it's overpowered, but it has many useless abilities as: choke bomb, hoodwink (make it works on bosses but nerfed a bit) bamboozle (pls make it new, viable plystyle) distraction (not that bad, but all builds uses same trickobat tree so not used too) and the toughest one (and worst of them all) diversion. I fears that after fruma update when they will add more abilities better woud be to just use trickobat with maybe marks.

I pretty much need all of @ChrisWildfire's posts to be added honestly. They all fit into the game and the only argument you could possibly make against them is dev time.

I see, that's a good point. I agree, Arc of the Twilight fits much better. It also sounds really cool!

Thank you for the feedback, my friend!

Heya sorry I’ve been busy to reply but a guy by the name of ThePurpleEmerald made some custom summons made by himself and ideas from other people. Hopefully someday we can both keep the Shepard ability as a side ability but make more summons in general to fit what summoner is meant to be to- “XD

That post is very well-made! It added that variety summoner was lacking. I'm a fan of how it encourages this "back-line strategist" playstyle that contrasts it with trapper's more brash and chaotic playstyle, despite both having multiple summons to work with!

What kind of summons do you personally want to see added to the archetype?

As much as Twilight's Arc (or just Twilight Arc, whatever you want to call it) I think is a really cool idea for implementing spell and melee at the same time, crep ray in general still bothers me as to how it functions as a sharpshooter ability.
Here we have abilities that generally lean toward single hits and accuracy, where crep ray is instead a giga-arrow storm with homing, which really doesn't mesh with the rest of the archetype's design.

Had it been something like a tight beam that continues to reward constant hits, it might have made more sense. But for now. eh.
Why am I telling you this and not a team member? I dunno.
(Also, tell Elysium and everyone else in the Weathered thread to knock it off already. I seriously doubt it's getting a rework, and it's not going to anyway from a single thread)

That's a good point! Making it release an actual ray would fit in the design much better. However it would need a lot of particles if it were to have the same area of effect as current Crepuscular Ray, especially with its practically unlimited range. As much as it would fit sharpshooter's design, I can imagine how hard it could be to actually implement.

I like to think that making it shoot homing arrows instead is a way to compromise between gameplay feel and what is feasible.

Jeez I vanished from life for a bit. If I'll be honest summons wise, I want to see are ones the buff others and self, alongside just other ways to deal damage effectively as of that to other archetypes in other classes which allows Shaman to do more than fit a support AOE role. I would say the best examples come from ThePurpleEmeralds Summoner Rework proposal which award players for being strategic by how each little dubious creature is controlled and maneuvered.

Tempest enabling you to float is really cool. Mage always was the class with best mobility in the air but couldn't partake in combat while flying. Vessel of Despair stopping at 60 blood pool is also a really good addition to not leave acolytes with 0 health and blood pool (this really messed with me while playing Panic Zealot builds). I don't play archer but those abilities also sound great.
