To make messaging people easier, the quick reply command, also known as /r, allows you to quickly reply to the person who had last messaged you. While this is a nice quality-of-life feature, there is one flaw with this system.

Currently, /r is programmed to send messages to the person who had previously messaged you. On paper, this seems perfectly fine, but in practice, you will notice /r will most likely not send your message to the intended person when communicating with two or more people at the same time. The GIF attached below perfectly demonstrates how the system currently behaves.

As you can see with the GIF, my message was intended for Salted, but jpresent messaged me immediately before I sent my quick reply, thus, the message got sent to jpresent. You can think of this as hijacking someone's /r.

To alleviate this issue, I propose adding a new mode in which /r will send messages to the person who you had previously messaged. To prevent confusion when this new mode rolls out to the public, the current system will remain the default behavior and players will have the ability to toggle the new system as they wish with a command similar to "/toggle newreplysystem" along with aliases for the command. The GIF below perfectly demonstrates my proposed system.

As you can see with the GIF, my message sent via /r was delivered to Salted, even though jpresent had sent me an advertisement prior to me sending my quick reply. Of course, players will need to first /msg someone before they are able to use /r, which is also shown in the GIF, otherwise, the system would not know who you had previously messaged if you have not messaged anyone since joining a world or will continue to send messages to the person you had last specified with /msg.

As far as I know, there are no cons for having this feature added as the current system is proposed to remain as the default behavior to prevent confusion among players.

Nice idea! When warring a lot it can also be an annoyance to see that it only saves per server and war & main will keep track separately - removing that would be neat as well.

I support it, as sometimes when warring we have to contact the original territory owners to notify them to hold the territory, but when I get another message it sends it to the person who messaged me just now.

I like this, but I don't think it will completely solve the issue. I personally don't think it changes enough to be implemented as in both situations you're going to eventually have to type out /msg (user) (message), whether it be rapidly switching between users due to /r being locked onto one person, or having to correct the last user who messaged you. Don't get me wrong, it's well thought out and seems like a good bit of effort was put into it, but I'm not convinced that it has enough of an impact. The most I can see happening is a slight reduction in accidentally /r's to the wrong people, but I still foresee it happening to the most forgetful of us. Seeing all of the support, I'd have to say that if people want it of course it should be implemented. If it is, not much will change for me, so no harm done to the players who don't completely support this. I'm not against this, I just think that it's unnecessary.
