    IDEA:
    So as you know, wynnic is a runic alphabet used for secrets, teasers, and such. This is the official alphabet, from, the wiki:
    [IMG]
    But in the actual game, wynnic is only found in the realm of light, and on top of dern, which likely isn't even on the real map. So why not add it?

    You might be thinking, "how do we add it?".

    Well, apparently you can use minecraft resource packs to edit the letters! Wynn actually has a unique font. But we would be completely retexturing letters.

    Another problem; what letters would we retexture? Why not use the alt keys? I dont know for all OS's, but on Macyes I'm typing this on a mac I'm sorry if you have a problem with thatyou hold down ALT+another letter, you can create more symbols. Once again, this may differ from OS to OS, but the current "alt alphabet" is:

    å=a
    ∫=b
    ç=c
    ∂=d
    ´=e
    ƒ=f
    ©=g
    ˙=h
    ˆ=i
    ∆=j
    ˚=k
    ¬=l
    µ=m
    ˜=n
    ø=o
    π=p
    œ=q
    ®=r
    ß=s
    †=t
    ¨=u
    √=v
    ∑=w
    ≈=x
    ¥=y
    Ω=z

    If this were to be implemented, the symbol on the left column would be replaced with the wynnic character corresponding to the letter on the right column. I know this might cause problems with some people typing; there are a few letters with accents, but this would be limited to wynncraft. You dont need perfect grammar on a minecraft server! As for the rest of the symbols, how many of you use any of these daily, on wynncraft?

    USES:

    Now, if this were to be implemented, what could we do with this?
    Well, secrets! For example, discoveries could be changed to wynnic, adding that little bit more depth to the game!
    Or, spells! In certain quests, like Eye of the Storm, where NPCs cast spells, replace the welsh?
    I'm sorry if your welsh with wynnic.
    You could maybe even have certain weapons/lore include wynnic. A new mythic might look cooler with runes. Or, those lores, like with knucklebones, have the engraved message be retextured, in the lore, to wynnic.
    If you have any more ideas, comment below!

    PROS/CONS:

    Pros:

    • Add more depth to the game.
    • Typing in wynnic might be fun
    • Can be used to create more detailed secrets ??? pt 2 plz
    Cons:
    • Might take a while to implement
    • Some characters can't be used anymore
    • Lenny faces would have downward facing ^'s as eyes
    If you have any more tell me

    Added con #3
    Added achievements
    Added Quest

    NEW ADDITION:

    A quest!

    This isn't 100% necessary, but this would introduce wynnic to the player through gameplay.

    Since most suggested implementations of this would happen in early mid game, I would say it could be around level 40.

    Using @Lotem s quest book format:

    "Rosetta"

    Wynn

    Level Minimum: 40

    Difficulty: Easy

    Length:

    Starting NPC: Dyenu(Named after @Undyne since she doesnt have an IG reference apparently)

    Location: Here, since Nesaak doesnt have enough NPCs

    If too low level:

    [1/1]Dyenu: Hello, adventurer. I see you're too low level to help with something. You might be ready soon, though. Come back at level 40.

    After finishing quest:

    [1/1]Dyenu: Hello again! I can't thank you enough for helping me with my research. Has that guide been useful?

    For the quest:

    [1/9]Dyenu: Oh, sorry, I didn't see you there.

    [2/9]Dyenu: I'm having trouble deciphering a text I found recently.

    [3/9]Dyenu: I'm a linguist, you see. Recently I was exploring a cave deep in the forest when I stumbled upon this tablet.

    [4/9]Dyenu: It looked very old, but I got even more excited when I saw strange symbols etched into the stone.

    [5/9]Dyenu: Want to take a look?

    Dyenu hands you the worn stone object. You can see faint symbols covering one side, but it looks like nonsense. You hand back the tablet.

    [6/9]Dyenu: I can see you're as stumped as I am.

    [7/9]Dyenu: However, this might not be the end of the story.

    [8/9]Dyenu: The cave where I found this; I was so excited about the tablet I left without exploring more.

    [9/9]Dyenu: Perhaps theres more there than just this?

    [Quest Book Updated]: Go find and explore the cave at (259,-930)

    If still there:

    [1/1]Dyenu: Go find the cave! If there is more there, this could aid a revolutionary discovery!

    You then need to go
    here, they'll be a new cave, just plain stone. You progress deeper into the cave, until you reach a coal teleporter. Enter it, and you tp to a large round chamber, with similar wall style. This must be where Dyenu found the tablet.

    [Quest Book Updated]: Find a way to progress deeper into the cave

    There is a small pedestal in the middle, with a stone pressure plate on top. A sign reads, "Thieves will not be granted passage". This indicates, that a thief, anyone who took the tablet, would've closed the passage. You need to stand on the pressure plate, opening a narrow crack in the back of the cave, opposite the entrance. It teleports you.

    [Quest Book Updated]: Progress deeper into the cave

    This cave is similar to the entryway, with vines wrapping around the walls. After walking a bit, the cave opens up into a large chamber, with stalactites, and a pool of water located on the ground, which is a ways below you. Falling off spawns you back at the start. A series of spires rising from the ground form an easy parkour to the center, which is a large, flat spire in the direct center of the cave. A pedestal is located in the middle, with a level one mob named "Crumbling Tablet" located in the middle. It drops a paper item of the same name. Another series of spires leads to the back, which has a teleporter. If you try and leave without the tablet:

    You probably shouldn't leave without bringing that tablet.

    If you enter the teleporter with the tablet; you enter a cutscene, which is basically a view of the grotto with particles and noises indicating the cave is collapsing.

    You then spawn at the beginning of a tunnel of similar theme as the previous caves, this one is considerably wider.

    Looks like someone didn't take as kindly to you taking that tablet! Better get out of here before the whole cave system collapses!

    [Quest Book Updated]: Escape the cave!

    Similar to The Canary Calls, a timer counts down from 40, and you have to make your way to the end of the cave, where there is a teleporter. Rocks fall from the ceiling, similar to A Meaningful Holiday, where if you get hit you have to restart. If you run out of time, you also restart. The teleporter spawns you outside the cave's entrance.

    You should probably return to Dyenu with the tablet.

    [Quest Book Updated]: Return to Dyenu with the tablet

    [1/9]Dyenu: You're back! Did you find anything?

    [2/9]Dyenu: Whats that in your hands?!

    Dyenu grabs the tablet from your hands and examines it closely for a bit...

    [3/9]Dyenu: Well this is disappointing...

    [4/9]Dyenu: It's simply a form of jungle runes....

    [5/9]Dyenu: Tell me how you found it.

    You recount to her your experience

    [6/9]Dyenu: There has got to be something special about this. I can't imagine anyone going to that much trouble to hide something like this...

    [7/9]Dyenu: Wait a moment! I recognize those symbol patterns!

    Dyenu grabs the first tablet from a nearby shelf, and compares it to the other

    [8/9]Dyenu: Yes! The patterns match! These two are undoubtedly two different translations of the same text!

    [9/9]Dyenu: I should have a book of jungle runes in my attic! Go find it, and we might solve this mystery!

    [Quest Book Updated]: Find a book on jungle runes in Dyenu's attic

    In the attic, which will be cramped, with cobwebs and bookshelves, will have 4 book NPCS on the shelves. If you try and enter before this stage of the quest:

    [1/1]Dyenu: Hey! That's my private collection up there!

    If you talk to her again without the book:

    [1/1]Dyenu: Hurry up and fetch that book!

    The book NPCs will give the following texts when interacted with:

    Gavel-Wynn Language Differentials

    by Lenny F.
    A book talking about how Wynn and Gavel, despite having had first contact only 10 years ago, have remarkably similar languages.

    Ghost Speech

    by N. Leijon @Nepeta Leijon i just wanted a homestuck reference
    A scholarly article that describes, albeit with a high amount of cat puns, the disastrous attempts to translate ghostly screeches.

    A*h **zg D*r*at**uk

    by Gundalf
    An old document of the research into the inscriptions found on the magic clocks known to exist around the world.

    Jungle Runes, Dialects, and Speech

    by Perns @Snerp yw
    This is the book you're looking for! You should bring it back to Dyenu.

    [Quest Book Updated]: Return the book to Dyenu

    Finishing the dialogue will trigger the quest book update, and will put a quest item book with the same title in your inventory. Interacting with it again gives the message:

    You've already taken the book off the shelf, better get it to Dyenu

    If you talk to the the book after the quest is done:

    The book is still missing, Dyenu must still be using it.

    Talking to her with the book:

    [1/10]
    Dyenu: That took long enough!

    Dyenu grabs the book from your hands.

    [2/10]Dyenu: If I translate the jungle runes, then use that text to match each unknown symbol to a letter of the alphabet, we should have a list of which rune corresponds to what symbol!

    She grabs a sheet of paper and begins scribbling furiously, looking back and forth between the two tablets and the book.

    [3/10]Dyenu: Here, take this.

    Dyenu hands you a sheet of paper with a list of rune/letter correspondences.

    [4/10]Dyenu: You should copy that down into your quest book so you don't loose it.

    You copy down the list onto the second page of your quest book.

    [5/10]Dyenu: That should come in handy if you ever stumble across some more of that, "Wynnic".

    [6/10]Dyenu: I can't thank you enough for all your help. This is a revolutionary discovery!

    [7/10]Dyenu: Oh, you want to know what the tablets read?

    [8/10]Dyenu: "The quick brown grook jumped over the fast, relaxed, lazy boar." Apparently, it's a phrase used in schools. Has all the letters of the alphabet.

    [9/10]Dyenu: I'd assume that's why the creator of these tablets choose the phrase.

    [10/10]Dyenu: Anyways, take this as a reward for all your help!

    [Quest Complete]
    "Rosetta"

    [+30,000 XP]
    [+960 Emeralds]
    [+Ability to decode Wynnic]
    If this were to be added, any discoveries or such would require completion of this quest to receive rewards.

    • The whole quest refers to the Rosetta stone, and how it contained the same written piece in 3 different languages.
    • The end of the cave is reminiscent of Raiders of the Lost Ark
    • The author of the first book is Lenny Face
    • The second book's title is a degraded version of "Ash Nazg Durbatuluk", part of the inscription of the One Ring in LOTR. The author Gundal also references the magic clocks, like insantick and golden clocks, that have special properties.
    • The third book references Nepeta Leijon from homestuck, because one can never have too many homestuck references

    Inb4 Wynnic is a universally accepted cypher,
    It shouldn't be called Wynnic though.
    The Realm of Light and Dern are actually not associated with Wynn, Wynn was just collateral damage.
