    Huh.....
So item stealing is different than losing an item for supposed lag?

You wont get the item back ether way

That's what this suggestion is trying to change. Also, losing an item from lag is losing it forever. Item stealing is when someone else picks up the item and begins to charge you for it. The two topics are completely different. People have gotten help from mods and gotten their items back, which disproves your argument.

I clarified this a bit more in the last section of the original post.

Well instead of making a rule that will not make anyone banned

How about we make dropped items unable to pick up

I did realize a week after this post that locks could essentially fix the whole problem, but it doesn't look like they'll come out soon even with an astronomical amount of support. (I'm sure the developers are working on it) The proposal I've made is more of a secondary solution, albeit less efficient I must admit, but it's easier to implement since it just needs a quick edit to the rules.

Also sorry for tagging you so much Moe, I didn't realize it was against the General Suggestions rules at the time.

You're OK. The rules really only apply to admins, and I'm not an admin.

My concern with changing the rule, really, is that it would be very easy for someone to lie and to create a lot of drama. I really wish that players wouldn't grab drops unless the other player walked away and said that the dropped items were free for the taking. Or, if they picked something up, that they would ask around first to see if the items were lost. "Finder's keepers; loser's weepers" may work for some, however, there is a real problem with defining when an item is considered lost. We consider it lost when it leaves a player's inventory, however, we know that sometimes item glitches drop accessories, and armor used to drop, also. There's also the problem of some player's still using the "Q" key as their drop key, where it's very easy to accidentally drop items. I guess that it all adds up as to what a person's morals are. If you find something that was dropped, do you do unto others as you would have them do unto you, nicely, or would you have them hold your items hostage, as you would hold theirs? I'm of the play fair and be nice category, as I'm certain that you are, too. Some people would rather play mercenaries. They don't have room to complain if it happens to them.

In the case of apples, and some other fruits, this is true. Apples, and bananas, produce ethylene, which makes other fruit around them ripen faster. In this case, if one apple, in a barrel, over ripens, then the rest of apples with ripen too quickly, also, and spoil. The saying is a warning, a very real warning, that if you have a barrel of apples, or any other fruit, to store them in a cool, dry space, and to even separate them into smaller containers.

It's been taken out of context, and misapplied to people, where it really can be badly misinterpreted. Instead of being a warning to people that they should not be bad, and therefore give a bad impression of the group they are in, on the whole, it's used to say that an entire group is bad, based on the actions of one person. That is clearly the wrong way to act. No one person represents any entire group of people. So, you see, depending on the intentions of the speaker, or writer, that quote can have different meanings.

For example (I am NOT including you here!), it was never meant to be applied to people, however, racists, bigots, etc., use it as an attack on broad groups of people based on the actions of a few members of the group. It can also be used here, in Wynncraft, to say either that the "bad apples" should stop, or that everyone is bad because of a few "bad apples". As to "There's always a few bad apples", that saying is supposed to be a warning of simple common knowledge; no group of people is completely innocent because there are always going to be dishonest people. Even that proverb can get misused, especially when it's used to let a group of people keep protecting bad people who are in their group.

The bottom line is simple: we know that some people do things that we aren't going to like, but using that reality as an attack on the group as a whole is just not the right thing to do.

What a jerk. I think this should definitely be added, but it could easily be abused. I'm thinking that if anyone is claiming that their items are being held ransom they have to provide screenshots of the chat to prove this?

How so? If the chat clearly shows that someone has taken items and is forcing payment for them, that's pretty good proof in my book.

Someone could start claiming that the other person took their item when they did not and then started to offering paying to get it back . Easily done by asking someone casually what weapon is that or after a trade / sell .
