SPOILER Zhiroak Nasin appreciation post

The more I play through Fruma, the more I realize how absolutely goated Sovereign Zhiroak is. Glaze incoming.

Firstly, we must look at the first impression of every sovereign. Soosu looks like a small child who should be in school learning basic math, not someone trusted with power over a region. Majin introduces himself as “Majin of House Thalas" which makes him sound like a nepo baby, and to top that off he looks like a twink. Gikyo looks like he's Geekyo (haha get it cause geeking please laugh) from Canned Abis 24/7. Then we look at Zhiroak. He's muscular, tanned, and remarakbly mentally stable when we compare him to to the other Sovereigns. He looks like he earnt his power.

Seconly, what really makes Zhiroak stand out is how he acts. He tries to improve the infrastructure and economy of the Auburn Forest, he gives Syndra a job and sympathizes with her. We can infer he cared for his people as we can see him mingling with commoners in the bar. He is always moving, always doing something important. He runs across the province trying to keep things under control. The glorious goat also shows that he is serious about his duty to the Queen and to Fruma. He made a master plan that should definitely have beaten the player during Echoes of Change if not for getting betrayed by Soosu.

Finally, he's not a sadistic tortuer who only wants to fight the weak like Gikyo, a narcissistic attention seeker like Majin, or a traitor like Soosu. He is loyal, compassionate, and strong. He is a good leader and a man I would certainly follow if circumstances were different.

I kind of disagree. In apotheosis he shows that he is loyal to Fruma first and foremost, and that, IMO, is precisely why he's laudable.

It occurs to me... Is Gikyo the only nb character in the whole game? What is it with them always being shapeshifter characters?

I feel you could argue that technically things like The Nameless are nonbinary because human gender binary could not hope to describe what their identity is. Same argument could be applied to the Orphion, because while Orphion uses He, I imagine that's just how he chooses to present himself as opposed to any internal gender feeling (and whatever his identity actually is indescribable with mortal gender concepts)

In soosus defense she looks like shes 12 visually so probably all her friends were slimed SO in her defense depressed 12 year old

After doing Apotheosis, we can see Sovereign Zhiroak burnt himself out to save every single one of his citizens, and even betray the queen to do it, almost certainly giving his life to do so. He is certainly the only sovereign with both the ability and willingness to act, thus living under him would be safe. Let us be so for real right now, can you imagine "But you...you seem weak" Gikyo doing all this? Can you imagine this literal reaction image *insert Majin crying face* doing all this?

Praise be to the Evermoving Zephyr, Sovereign of the Auburn Forest, the latest in the line of one of Fruma's great noble houses! His lordship, Sovereign Zhiroak Nasin!

 

The Nasin family is awesome I know.

 

Extra glaze incoming: He is canonically the only one to have the player in checkmate during Echos of Change, and also the only one to make a PLAN against the player, carrying immense main character energy despite being a secondary antagonist by overloading the charm and calling for Soosu's backup. This should have been it for us if Soosu didn't betray him.

 

You were in checkmate in Ensemble of Hope and effectively in checkmate in Overture to Despair, Two just kept throwing (deliberately)

 

Pretty sure that was Majin selling the bag here by somehow refusing to fight despite the player clearly being in their castle, Two's just a chill girl :D

 

He was adhering to Two's guidelines, if he was the one making the decisions, he would have fought you.

I'm pretty sure Majin says it's silly that they weren't allowed to fight the player during that interacting in Ensemble of Hope as well, but I don't magically know all the dialogue. so I might be wrong.
