December 13th Wednesday
Same thing as yesterday but we had to wake up in the middle of the night for a camp protection drill

 

December 14th Thursday
We had the finish ceremony and then broke the distance with the commanders.
After that we took a group picture and got on the bus.
We went to a house of a participant and had some lectures in a mechina there.
We also made stir fry outside.
At night the parents came and we all lit the Hanukkah candles together.
After that we drove to my grandmother, I showered and changed clothes and we drove to my dad's work place to live the candles with them

 

December 15th Friday
I took a train to Aya and spent the rest of the day with her

December 16th Saturday
Aya had a theater class do I stayed and played with her cousin

 

December 17th Sunday
I still have a day off and Aya is on vacation so I stayed, she had another theater class do I stayed home.
She had a long rehearsal so we didn't see each other for that long.

December 18th Monday
I had to be at the mechina at 1000 so we had to wake up early and get on the bus, I kissed Aya goodbye and went on the bus.
Then we had normal schedule in the mechina.
I texted Aya goodnight and went to sleep.

 

December 19th Tuesday
We had a torch race with the kibutz for 5km
After that we danced and played with the kids and ate donuts.

 

December 20th Wednesday
We had some guys come and explain about South Challenge.
At night the girls decided they are going to have a girls night.
So we bought 1100 plastic cups, filled them up and put them all over their room, we put coffee in their showerheads, maple in their shampoo and glued balloons and pins to the doors.
Then we locked our doors, took all of their keys and went to Abu gosh to eat.
On the way back we split into two units, one ran in past the girls and locked themselves upstairs and the rest of us climbed in through the windows. After a while we opened the door, locked ourselves in our rooms and went to sleep.
(Later we found out the girls took our underpants)

 

December 21st Thursday
We had a mishmar with previous years of the mechina.
It was a good one, it went on until 2am

 

December 22nd Friday
Tbh I don't remember anything about this weekend except we didn't have staff with us

December 23rd Saturday
Same

 

December 24th Sunday
I learned how to make an origami tank
We hosted a seminar for the other branches. Great speakers.
We watched a very Harold and Kumar Christmas and went to sleep

 

December 25th Monday
We had a day without the staff
And we had pizza night, so I made 5kg of dough.

 

December 26th Tuesday
We had a screening process for 12th graders that want to join the mechina.
We judged them and interviewed them.
Most passed.

 

December 27th Wednesday
We organised a democracy day for ourselves.
We started with a talk with a high ranking police man.
Then we went to the movement for the quality of the government (we had a great lecture there).
After that we went to the parliament and talked to a couple PM's.
After that we had a tour of the parliament and watched a general Assembly.
Then we went back to the mechina, ate, had a quick explanation about tomorrow and that's it.

 

December 28th Thursday
We volunteered at setting up a fund raiser that helps people that were sexually abused.
We were also filmed for the ad for the mechina.
Aya joined us somewhere near noon.
After we finished me and Aya took a train North, on the train we meet an Arab family with five kids so we made origami for all of them.
We got off in Haifa and went to the German colony (everything was decorated for Christmas Hanukkah and the sacrifice day)

We toured the place and then sat down to eat, it was by far the worst pasta we ever ate.
After that we kept walking around, I bought a Breezer and we saw a ceremony at the Greek church.
Then we went to a cool pub and sat outside and talked.
After that we went on a bus and went home, we showered and went to sleep.

 

December 29th Friday
We woke up late and ate breakfast.
Then I made Aya prepare for her math exam.
We did Kiddush (the Friday night ceremony)
Then we watched Loving Vincent (I mean she watched, I slept through most of it), it's an amazing movie, not plotwise, but every frame is a hand painted oil painting.
After that we went to sleep.

 

December 30th Saturday
Woke up late and ate breakfast
Made Aya study for her math test
At night we took a train to her house and spent the night there

 

December 31st Sunday
All the boys from all branches of the mechina met in an army base and we were introduced to the tank unit and the combat engineers.
At evening we had round circles with ultra Orthodox Jews.
At night we celebrated New year's (we got permission from the staff to buy alcohol)
We broke a door and fixed it (it's slowly falling apart now)

 

January 1st Monday
We woke up late and had a meeting at night, didn't really decide on anything tho

 

January 2nd Tuesday
We started with a stir in the dining hall cause it's too cold outside.
We presented the staff with our plan for the prep days for the chovek (every two people plan a day in a two week trip).
As a leadership class we designed an ad for phone cases, my group planned it as a montage of a slow mo falling phone and vids of various assassination attempts, then you see the after math and the writing "if only all of them had shields" (in Hebrew we call phone cases phone shields)

 

January 3rd Wednesday
we woke up at 6 and went on a bus to the central station and from there to be'er sheva and then to the middle of no where to check out the hiking trail for our chovek.
there we met a school of the girl that is working on the chovek with me.
after that we took a bus to dimona there we went to see where we will sleep and where we can eat lunch (we have a budget of 30 nis per day per mouth) we ate at a falafel place that gave us a deal of a falafel+lemonade+chips+salads for 15 nis.
then we got on a bus to be'er sheva from there we split, I took a train to aya and the rest went home.

 

January 4th Thursday
we woke up really early cause aya had to leave
I stayed home for a while
then I planed doing a river hike near Jerusalem but we got a weather warning so I went straight to the mechina and helped the staff get ready for stuff
