    Dear Community of Wynncraft,

Recently with the new housing update a lot of features have been added. An upgrade it definitely did deserve. The developers have crafted this upgrade with extreme care and it really shows. New blocks like instruments were added, prices were changed and the island was expanded for everyone. I'm quite happy for those who didn't get to use their whole island. There is however something missing. Something that can bring charm to a build without using any of the blocks already available and without using signs and item stands that only allow a certain amount of characters.

Something I have always found very interesting is how sometimes you can click on NPC's and it gives you an option screen based on your possible responses like this Rodoroc Dwarf has. upload_2023-4-12_15-39-23.png

This does not only apply to NPC's but is also used in some of the quests like 'Hollow Serenity' with the lockbox. The ability to pick and choose what you want to ask is a great addition to the game. Although I wish it wasn't locked to just the playable world of Wynncraft.

-=So what am I suggesting with this post?=-

What I am suggesting in this post is for housing to add dialogue options like shown in the image above. Someone or something to interact with that pops up dialogue.

    -=How can this be done?=-
This can be done in a couple of ways. A short description is provided.

-NPC's using minecraft's mob- and playermodels
These include regular vanilla minecraft mobs and player entities with skins in the wynncraft database. These include subspecies of mobs like the villagers with their different jobs.

    -Inanimate objects
A common theme in quests is how you have to click on items to progress. The action of clicking on these items results in text showing up in the chatbox only visible to the player clicking on the item. The ability to place something like this would be compact and adding to the already detailed builds housing has to offer.

    -=Examples of their use=-

    -Your own stories to tell
The established world of Wynncraft and its many provinces provide enough story for every single location and its inhabitants. We are the main character interacting with all of it. Yet our stories will never be unique. Our stories can almost be a one to one copy of someone else's story in Wynncraft. Some may want to diverge from their path and share their own stories about themselves or about someone from the past who also travelled across Wynn's provinces. I myself am planning to build an archive with a lot of diary logs where the writer is describing through her own eyes how it felt when she was there.

Those who seek knowledge and know where to look may find a treasure trove of writing masterpieces. The fact that these optional stories are entirely locked to housing also has the benefit of being entirely optional. This means that it does not intrude on the official wynncraft lore. If the story in someone's housing island is unsatisfactory the reader can leave on his own volition without having to lose out on rewards real quests give.

    -Adding to the charm
Like I've mentioned before, the charm of housing can be multiplied if the owner could place little tidbits around their builds. A build can be admired but the beholder is unable to view the true story. This suggestion solves that problem.

    -=Problems that may arise=-

    -Allocation of resources
To add a new feature, resources must be spent on developing the feauture and keeping that feature working as intended. I am not a coder so I have no clue how much a feature like this would bloat the Wynncraft database since it's entirely entity-based. (mobs and armor stands for the inanimate objects).

    -Writing of new code
Like all features code is necessary to function. Code doesn't write itself and therefore needs to be done with care. A new system entirely devoted to this specific thing can be hard but I theorise that code can be taken from quests as well as custom items already present on the housing islands (Yet again, I have no idea of how the wynncraft coding works)

    -Abuse of the feature
When there is a new feature introduced there is almost always a group of individuals who want to wreak havoc. they might do this through adding a platoon of these dialogue-options with maximum capacity to bloat the server on purpose. A solution for this can be that it shares an entity limit with the other entities present on the island. Another one could be that extra 'lore-specific' entity slots can be earned through various means. Be it through ranks, shops or events.

    -=Is this feature possible?=-
I think this feature is a possibility and fits the wynncraft aesthetic perfectly in my opinion. It only adds to the aesthetic and doesn't change any of the core gameplay. I suspect developing this feature will not be super-difficult due to old code being able to be reused (speculative).

I have missed some aspects regarding this feature. While I'm not active in any wynncraft discords you can still contact me through my discord account: Verse#4978
I'd love to talk more about Wynncraft with you.

    With kind regards,

Corkus is a province, and I'd argue the SE counts, even though it's kind of a part of wynn. And there'll also be fruma soon.
And if you're fine with stretching the definition of "province" a bit (or maybe a lot), the ocean could be counted as one

SE is definitely part of Wynn, Fruma doesn't technically exist yet, the ocean isn't a province

    but corkus does exist

The SE's build style is completely different to wynn's, it's completely blocked off from wynn by mountains, there's a huge level gap between the two, and most of wynn's population doesn't even know of its existence

Yes, but because Wynncraft itself is the thing defining provinces, SE is, technically speaking, a part of the Wynn province, for the same reason that the Ocean isn't its own province. "Province" isn't a word that we use to mean whatever we want, it's something that Wynncraft has a set definition for and specific areas labelled as such.

In what way is corkus not a province? It's around the same size as the SE (also a province)
Even though according to the lore the SE used to be a part of wynn, if most people in wynn don't even know of its existence I don't think it can be considered part of the province

Corkus isn't recognized by the Wynnic and Gavelian governments as a province. Also, most people in Gavel don't know of the existence of Eltom, but it's still considered part of the province.
