Game Design Yet another post about Quest Helmets

I know this is the 10 billionth post about this, but hear me out ;)

WHAT PROMPTED THIS POST:
Im trying to do the Corrupter Of Worlds fight from the Temple Of Legends quest on my lvl 106 class, but to do it, I have to wear a quest helmet. It just so happens that my helmet is a skillpoint piece, and if I dont wear it, my entire build breaks apart and I cant even use my weapon.


MY PROPOSED SOLUTION
I assume these helmets exist due to prior technical limitations, but by now, they only serve the lore of the game, not the gameplay.
- Gameplay should be first, not lore
- The lore is replacable, for example:
-> The "Climbing Helmet" could be replaced by an NPC teaching the player how to climb properly
-> The "Purified Helmet of Legends" could be replaced by a protection spell
-> The "Creeper Mask" could later be replaced by Garull just allowing you in after the initial Creeper Infiltration quest
-> The breathing helmets can be replaced by an NPC giving the player scuba diving instructions
-> The orc/Gert/etc. masks can be replaced by a chat message "You put on the xyz mask"
-> Et cetera...


POST SCRIPTUM RANT
If you really want me to wear the helmet, check if Im wearing it once so I can enter, and then let me put my build back on after entering (You are forced to wear the helmet throughout the entire bossfight against the Corrupter Of Worlds, otherwise you will be teleported out).
