Is this province vs realm argument still going on? Really?
I think it's a province, because all evidence pointing towards Dern being a realm has kinda already been disproven.

 

The only thing I could say about usign the helmet to go to the Light Realm wouldn't make sense if in both Wynn D and Fantastic Voyage there was no helmet required. I believe the helmet in Finding the Light/The Light Realm was just to get past some sort of spell or prevention of reaching the portal underground.

If you don't want to read it, basically the Guardian of the Forest says that you aren't from Gavel and can't see the entrance, thus forcing you to make the helmet. Basically, that means no virtual reality. I'm too tired to debunk the rest of your theory now, so I'll leave you with a project. This theory reminds me of one of Spyro's theories, and it got debunked really fast. It was a bit more far fetched, but if you look through his created threads you should be able to find it.

 

Well I don't want to get into too much debate, but I thought of what I said because why in the first place couldn't anyone see it, what was the purpose? Anyways, thanks for pointing me to that thread.

 

This theory can be simply debunked with one law: Occam's razor, or the law that the simplest answer (the one without the most assumptions) is correct, so by the looks of it, using that law, your theory is wrong

 

actually you cant if you didn't do it, it won't seem suspicious to you at all.
but you just pointed them to it and highlighted it.

that is what grian said, the part we need is:

what that means is that the npc's in game considre it as a far off realm, which is truely how dern is mostly referred to in game. we got confirmation from someone a while ago that dern was overun by darkness and is in ruins. dern was a province until its realm took over and invaded. so dern isn't a province anymore because it got destroyed, it's in ruins and its people fled (dern immigrants, ancients) when the native dern population arrived dern was already a thing of the past so they were described as someone who came from a far off dark land.

as to the op, I was never a big fan of theories, maybe it's because the evidence is censored heavily, or maybe it's because it doesn't fit with the in game lore.

Anyway, can we leave the realm vs province "theory" alone now? It's kinda dead, and I think we'll have some more... definitive evidence in the future.

That's why I believe Dern will be underground.

It was first discovered through the Abandoned Mines when the miners were digging/mining, the portion of the Dark Realm we enter in Fantastic Voyage looks to be caved inside with ruins covered in the terrain and the Ancients seem to have an underground hiding fetish

 

Welp, the Realm of Light DOES have its own 'Sun' soooo... Maybe this could be true?

 

I thonk it has its own sun from technical limitations, you cant remove the sun in minecraft.

 

Do you mean the one in the sky? I meant the big fire ball you see after getting attacked by the light dog. The guy says it's their sun..

I did that quest when it came out, I don't remember a sun but I would go check

 

Pretty sure I saw a screenshot of them talking about their sun dying due to the parasites.
