World Wynncraft - The Purge

Hello everyone, this is Amplitude coming at the Wynncraft community with a new idea for the server. I am representing a private organization, and they want this added to the official Wynncraft server. So to start it off, as you see by the title, the purge. The purge is an annual event to lower the population for the best of the world. In Wynncraft, you always see that servers are full, laggy, and just sometimes people get bored of doing things like grinding, So for all you crazy people out there, this is for you. The purge in Wynncraft would help lower the population for all the new players that would like to come and enjoy the amazing world of Wynn. Once the Purge is activated you hear a giant roar, it comes from a man name "Gryaen" and he is screaming down on the world of Wynn, if you hear that sound the event has started. During the purge everything is legal, stealing from banks, murder, and all law enforcement (content team) will be in hiding until the night is over. Some of you will be thinking, what if everyone just quit because they did not want to lose that new mythical horse they got? Well we have a suggestion for that, every player must participate or they would be banned, anyone who does not like this, it does not matter because it's not up to you <3 , Ok so, everyone who does participate in the purge event no one will have a fair chance considering their are op people at level 100 and scrubs at level 5 and will most likely die. Anyone who thinks that they can overthrow the content team has something else coming at them, they all are loading with top of the line weaponry. Please everyone support me on this idea as I feel it is best for our lovely community. Have a good time purging!​

That's a great idea, considering I'm going to go out and destroy all the scrubs when this is implemented >;} I'm not crazy {*_*}

 

Okay, while this seems like a good idea in theory, I've seen something similar on another RPG server. The staff were concerned that the game was too easy and no one was PvPing, so they decided to make everything legal every other Saturday (towns lost grief protection, pvp was enabled almost everywhere, etc.). That decision, among others, has made the server lose a ton of new players and its community has become increasingly toxic. The only thing I see on their forums anymore is flame wars about these "purge" events.
