This is obviously a very stupid question but how do you know which notes to play? Do you just stand there in that specific area waiting for a song to start?

 

I have VIP+ (/forum just is broken) so I can use the jukebox to play any song anywhere. As for recording, I use the voice memo on my phone, then I transfer the notes one by one by
1. Playing a part
2. Singing the part
3. Placing each note

Basically I sit in a room going
