I've decided that the current Idol model is as good as I feel it needs to be. While I understand that some people do not like the chunkiness, losing the chunkiness would detract from some of the detail and overall feel of the weapon, in my opinion.

Regular • Shiny. I'm gonna tweak the Shiny one, though

It is really too chunky, try to make those wings way smaller than usual and use New Water Spear Model as a concept for it while the pallele should remain.

    Item Lore

The main reason for the chunkiness in the first place is in accordance with the item lore. I interpreted 'almost like that of a totem pole' to mean various carved objects representing different things to be stacked on top of one another. The way I chose to execute this was by making each of the segments thicker, so that I could detail them with a wave, moon, and fish respectively, without making it seem like the symbols were just floating. I will see what I can to do slim it down, but no promises. I think the size of the wings is good though. The Water Spears are not a good source of inspiration for Idol, just because I feel like it would be nigh impossible to fit any readable images onto a slim design like that it.

Thanks for your feedback though, I'll see what I can do!

That’s a good point, I agree that it’s quite chunky but that’s a good reason for it.

Mod looks great, sadly I have 1.20.2 Forge Wynntils and OptiFine doesn't seem to have a 1.20.2 version so I can't use this. Guess I'll just have to wait on 1.20.4 wynntils

I tried the pack out and the weapons look awesome, but my game goes down to 1 fps when on a bank page full of weapons. Too much of an FPS drop for me unforunately :/

Another week, another Weekly Progress Update

    Hi Hi!

As usual, I must thank you all for the downloads! 3,000 downloads, thank you very much!

    3000d.png
    Flabbergasted.

In other news, I am basically done with the Bows in Project Revamp Default, and are a few of my favourite: The Fire Bows and The Multi Bows!

    bow_fire_showcase.png bow_multi_showcase.png
    Animations included!
I am slowly crawling through the bowels of the pack, giving emissive textures to those I see fit. However, it is becoming increasingly obvious that this will add a lot more voxels to the pack, which comes with even more taxing performance. So, I ask for your help. I want to optimise the pack as best I can, and I have come up with a few solutions, which all unfortunately come with drawbacks. If you have any ideas, please get in touch!

These aren't solutions, but they could help:
    1. Create a version of the pack (different to the main one) that includes emissive textures. The default would be without emissive textures, in order to provide more performance (in my opinion, emissive textures do not add to much to the value of the pack, but do help with immersion/they just look better).
    2. Create a version of the pack (could be bulked into same version as the aforementioned suggestion, as a sort of 'Fancy' version) that has every single model the current pack has right now, and make the default pack only have late-game+ models, and also my favourite lower level ones. This would cut down about ~30ish% of the models, which would definitely help with performance.
    3. Split the pack up into level ranges of 20, where each pack remodels weapons in the aforementioned level range.
I think each of these ideas have merit, but would be even more of a nightmare to manage than currently (especially suggestion #3). Anyways, I'd love to know your thoughts, as I have also been feeling the performance impact lately!

No I haven't gotten round to fixing/tweaking Idol.

That's all for now. As always, feedback and suggestions on everything to do with the pack are very welcome.

    Thanks for your time.

    Take care,
    //Rythew

Hey, thanks for the compliments, glad you like the pack! I have already done all of the Mythic weapon models, and the sneak peeks I've been sharing for the past few weeks are revamps of models I do not feel are up to scratch. Here are the models for Nirvana and Singularity, though you have reminded me that a few of the Mythic's Shiny variations are quite similar to the regular versions (such as Nirvana and Singularity), so I will put that on the to-do list for the next update.

    Weekly Progress Update!

    Hi Hi!

First, thanks for... 5,300 downloads? No, I didn't get download botted or whatever, it was mostly down to Olinus' Wynncraft Overhaul Modpack (Check it out here!).

    5300d.png
Nonetheless, insane numbers. Thank you all!
This week, I finished off the Bows and will start work on the Reliks. I have made no other progress (it's getting busy, hence the late weekly update, sorry).

    bow_earth_showcase.png
    relik_basic_showcase.png

So cool. Anyways, that's it for this week (no ramblings today; time constraints). If you have any feedback or suggestions, I would, as always, love to hear them (no Idol this week, before you ask).

    Take care,
    //Rythew

    Hey,
Yeah, those models are in the current version of the pack. There are a few reasons why the resource pack might not be working. first, check if the versions are the same (use the CITR version of the pack if you are using CIT Resewn, or the OF pack for Optifine). If that doesn't work, try different game versions (I develop the pack on 1.20.4, so that should work.) If you wanna use 1.20.2, these specs have worked for a few people:
    mc 1.20.2
    java 17
    fabric loader 0.15.10
    fabric api 0.91.6
    cit resewn json 1.1.3.2

If these steps still don't work, just shoot me a message and I can help how I can (but to be honest, I'm not the best at troubleshooting).

    Hope you get it working,
    //Rythew

so I've tried 1.20.4 with CITR and that didn't work so I tried the specs for 1.20.2 that you sent and that didn't work either. However, some of the models do load for example all the shiny mythic models will work and so will The End model so it's like only some parts of the pack are not working. Are there any other mods that CITR needs? I've tried OP as well and the same thing only some of the models will show.

Hey, thanks for the response. I'll have a look into it, but I am not sure why only some of the models appear. I shouldn't even be because of the item lore because The End has none. Do you see any other of the Fabled/Legendary skins, or is it just The End? Also the current version of the pack has broken regular Mythic models, so they won't work.

    I'll investigate soon.

    Thanks,
    //Rythew

yes I see more than just The End, I also see Bobs dagger and King of Hearts. So if the pack's regular mythic models are not working for anyone that's probably the issue because I can see every shiny mythic model and that leads me to assume I can see all of the models currently available. I thought the pack wasn't working properly because my regular mythic models have not changed.

Depends if you want to use Wynntils or not. The only reason there is a difference is because Wynntils is still on MC 1.20.2.

I'm going to assume you know nothing about mods, which is fine. Apologies if this is a bit patronising either way.

first, you need to decide which mod loader to use.

If you just want to use the pack, no extra fluff, then skip to the Optifine section.
If you also want to download a fair few performance mods on the side, go to Fabric - No Wynntils.
If you want to use Wynntils (mod with Wynncraft-specific quality of life features), then skip to the Fabric - With Wynntils section. A heads up that this version may not work.
If you don't wanna deal with the fuss, but still care about performance/visuals, and want a one-click solution, check out Olinus and Co's modpack at https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/new-wynncraft-modpack-both-immersive-performance.316286/

    Optifine

    1. Download the following:
Get the Optifine installer from https://optifine.net/downloads, and download the latest 1.20.4 version (should be the only one that comes up unless you press 'Show All versions')
Get the Fables & Legends resource pack from https://modrinth.com/resourcepack/wynncraft-fables-legends/version/FLO8

    2. Double-click the Optifine.jar file, and click 'Install'. Wait for it to install.

    3. Locate your .minecraft folder by typing %appdata% in the file path bar in File Explorer (the longer bar next to the search function). Then, open up the .minecraft folder, and locate resourcepacks. Place the Fables & Legends resource pack in there.

    Fabric - No Wynntils
    (Using MC version 1.20.4)
    1. Download the following:
Get the fabric installer from https://fabricmc.net/use/installer/
Get the fabric API Mod from https://modrinth.com/mod/fabric-api/version/0.97.0+1.20.4
    Get CITR Mod from https://modrinth.com/mod/cit-resewn/version/1.1.5+1.20.4
Get the Fables & Legends resource pack from https://modrinth.com/resourcepack/wynncraft-fables-legends/version/FLC8

    2. Double-click the Fabric Installer (the one with an icon, not a .jar file), and select version 1.20.4, client-side. Wait for it to install.

    3. Locate your .minecraft folder by typing %appdata% in the file path bar in File Explorer (the longer bar next to the search function). Then, open up the .minecraft folder, then the mods folder (create a new folder called mods if there isn't already one). Move the fabric API mod and the CITR mod into the mods folder.

    4. Then, go back into your .minecraft folder, and locate resourcepacks. Place the Fables & Legends resource pack in there.

    Fabric - With Wynntils
(Using MC version 1.20.2 - Might not work - Probably depends on your Java version/graphics drivers/a whole host of other things)
    1. Download the following:
Get the fabric installer from https://fabricmc.net/use/installer/
Get the fabric API Mod from https://modrinth.com/mod/fabric-api/version/0.91.6+1.20.2
Get CITR Json Lag Patch Mod from https://modrinth.com/mod/cit-resewn-jsonlagpatch/version/1.1.3.2+1.20
    Get Wynntils Mod from https://modrinth.com/mod/wynntils/version/uMv3PKvR
Get the Fables & Legends resource pack from https://modrinth.com/resourcepack/wynncraft-fables-legends/version/FLC8

    2. Double-click the Fabric Installer (the one with an icon, not a .jar file), and select version 1.20.2, client-side. Wait for it to install.

    3. Locate your .minecraft folder by typing %appdata% in the file path bar in File Explorer (the longer bar next to the search function). Then, open up the .minecraft folder, then the mods folder (create a new folder called mods if there isn't already one). Move the fabric API mod, CITR Json Lag Patch mod, and Wynntils mod into the mods folder.

    4. Then, go back into your .minecraft folder, and locate resourcepacks. Place the Fables & Legends resource pack in there.

Hope that helped, and you got it working. But if not, just let me know and I will try to help/troubleshoot.
