Wynncon 2016 Recap!

wow NO ONE EVER TOLD ME THIS WAS HORRIBLY ADVERTISED

 

It was so horribly advertised that we had almost 150+ players at one point :^;

 

rip, I missed a third of the speeches. I like how I'm turning away from the camera in the group photo (steve closest to the left)

Well people were talking about this in the shout box and there were some threads about it. Since it wasn't official you might not of known about it though.

 

That is bad because wynn has thousands and only a fraction of the players actually got to attend because it was only advertised on the forums I wish this was a weekend event where ppl could go on and play mini games to win le then you would have sooooo many players

 

Wynncon was absolutely amazing, an event to top all others. It was amazing not only being part of it, but being one of its builders too! I loved every part of it, and I even got to act as a warden of sorts /tp ing players who were interrupting speakers into a jail I'd made, and /mute ing players who were talking during speeches. While it was a little disorienting to have Wynncon have a bit of a break halfway through, the second half went a lot smoother in my opinion and was equally as fun.

It'd be amazing if we could do Wynncon, or at least an event like it, next year; I'd be the one of the first to sign up to make it. It's been great fun working with all the brilliant people involved in the creation of Wynncon, and I've felt like I've made some great friends in the process (shoutout to @WonderousDanFox, my armour stand partner in crime).

All in all, Wynncon has been one of my all time greatest experiences I've had with Minecraft: I've met great people, had a great time and got to show off my skills with armour stands. It certainly makes it on my top 5 moments in Minecraft list (which I don't actually have, but you get the point).

 

I don't see myself in any of these pictures. :(

 

Can someone tell us (the people that couldn't come) Grian's speech?
Life and/or timezones got in the way and a bunch of us couldn't come...

It was a perfect time for me to come, but then they decided to move it back 4 hours for god knows why, and I had to miss it because I was too busy learning to drive.

 

Can you tell me how much of those players are active forum members and contributing members of the community?

 

I had a great time this year! Just like any convention IRL in its first year, there was chaos at times, but the over all experience was very enjoyable! I'm sad that I had to leave during @Villageacules 's speech for lunch among other things. Overall, it was an enjoyable event, and definitly one I hope is done again next year! Great job guys!

Grian told us at the beginning that it was exclusive to the WynnCon attendees, and that we COULD share it but he really would rather us not to. To keep the grolan happy, we won't spoil these exclusive "spoilers".

So we don't get to hear the speech because our timezone happened to not match the event? How the hell is that fair? We're just as important to the community as you guys are. You have screenshots of the speech, just show us!
