Lastly, the meteor does not appear out of the sky. It appears about 10-20 blocks about the target. I would argue this would be some type of portal or teleportational magic.

we know that the world is only 256 meters thick and there is nothing underneath. that means the world is much bigger, but has less gravity because the mass ist smaller cuz the world is hollow

You do realise that the mage is controlling gravitons, just like Thor does in Marvel. Using this example it is quite obvious that the gravitons would be manipulated instantaneously, and at the last second. This can be used to stop the aftermath killing the wizard at the same time.
