fun fact: i've been working on a sort of "daily tasks" system for this project
since school is starting soon and ive been doing other stuff to prepare for school, ive kinda changed how i treat this project
now, i kinda give myself something i must do on this every day, which does slow progress unfortunately, but it helps me keep working on this even when school kicks in again

if y'all want i can start posting what imma do today (assuming it won't spoil anything i don't want spoiled)
today imma prolly work w/ ambassadordazz (or smth like that) to make a cool discord for wynnrecreation
might extend it to tomorrow aswell depending on how long it takes

anyways, small update
ive taken a small break from the project as im getting a bit burnt out
meanwhile ive been working on the discord server w/ ambassadordazz
and im making plans to make a trailer, wihc will contain the stuff for wynnrecreation
again tho, imma need some time since all of this takes a lot of time to make

 

okay so here's a very rough timeline of what i plan to do
august - finish shaman abilities (except maybe summoner, i have to do some weird trash for summoner)
early september - do a sort of staff beta to final check everything
mid september - public beta, only the field and test dummies will be there as i still have lots of work to do on the bosses
from there it totally depends on how much school work i have
and if i get projects upon projects piled on me than this may be skewed by a lot
or if something else in my life occurs (everythings been going haywire over the past few months but it seems like its starting to calm down, hopefully)

basically, someone recently offered to help me w/ development
i dont rly need any help rn, im just working on some cool new systems

basically, imma completely overhaul how items are made, so item makers yall should take a break
well it's not a complete overhaul but there will be quite a few differences

1. item makers won't have to do lore shenanigans, only tags, the rest will handle itself
2. once this system is coded in, adding in items will be twice as fast. this would also mean i can accept more item makers onto the team!
3. i can add support for powder slots! granted it'll be a little hard but it's doable
4. items can be nerfed/buffed as needed, and will automatically update in everyone's inventories
5. item giver would be automatically updated

but, there are a few risks
1. lots of bugs, and i mean lots. the last time i tried a system like this, there was a lot of wipe bugs, but this new system does have some protections against wipe bugs
2. this system would need a LOT of values being entered, but again, i plan to ask the guy who offered to help w/ development for this
they'd need to enter almost every ID in wynn, but it could be worse
3. each item would need it's own "id" tag, which could cause issues if an item is missing an id tag


im not gonna elaborate too much on the new system, but it's basically just helps make the project much more automatic
i was gonna need to do it someday, so might aswell do it now
gonna have to push off finsihing shaman for a little while longer unfortunately, imma see what i can do for ritualist but summoner probably won't be there during the staff beta & public beta
also, school is starting MUCH earlier than i originally accounted for, so this original roadmap may not be 100% accurate
if things go well, it should be on track
but if things go horribly, everything will be pushed down by like atleast a week

 

oh and we're aka endi since i find this project absolutely mind-numbing gonna buff a boss even when it's already so hard!

basically, the item system is still not going in as well as i had hoped
i am encountering too many spacing issues and attack speed issues

idk if people will even want to play this because of the super smallk amount of content
on release theres only gonna be 2 bosses
sure, theres the 15 archetypes u can mix and match more freely than in real wynn
and you have like a lot of the items in the game
but still
plus my friend enderae consantly calling wynnrec bad and non-stop insulting it doesn't help very much either
even though he's supposed to be one of the major contributors to the project

its so demotivating when its your best friend

plus im not rly finding much fun out of this anymore
its starting to feel more like a chore than an actual fun thing to make
like im just forcing myself to work it on it so the hype generated for this isnt for nothing

and ive already done so much and there's still so much to go
i have to finish ritualist, summoner, and finish the 2 bosses
fix the new item system so it actually does stuff
add a bunch of missing items

idk if ill quit the project but i do feel like i want to

Also if you’re feeling tired, just take a break. Nobody’s going to force you to keep coding and I’m sure everyone will be completely fine with you doing so.

but then the node started lagging so i had to remove them all
