I want to be friends with Qira. A lot of people think that she's bad, and sure, she's murdered a few players, but maybe she's just scared and acting in self defence? I know that Qira is really just someone who needs a bit of love, and I shall befriend her. When people come to kill her, I shall fight alongside her, because she is no evil being! She's friendly! Sure, she might take some of my Soul Points, but that's part of trusting one another. I'll become friends, no, BESTIES with Qira and then you'll see! You'll all see! Qira is not evil! She just wants to make friends!

Except the reason you're venturing through Hive is to prove yourself to Qira as a fighter, not a lover...

 

I will prove to Qira that I'm a capable fighter, then we'll become besties because she'll see how awesome and talented I am!

The starter NPC also says her Goal is to fight the Darkness, Anyone that's willing to help the Elves is a friend of mine.

You don't have to fight Qira. But, if you enter her arena, it is construed to be a challenge, and thusly she will attack you, so not fighting her means one of two things.

A) Dodging all of her attacks for eternity
B) Not entering Qira's arena
