    > Wynncraft is no longer called wynncraft, it is now something like legend of bob: breath of...wynn
Probably not free, on steam, and will have a designated playerbase that still plays even if it dies.

    Style changes:
will probably have the cool things all the other mmorpgs have, so like:
    > crafted items will not be armor but instead gadgets and tools like grappling hooks
    > keep the skill point system we like that
    > none of the current wynn devs means itll have garbage graphics
    > Bossfights will be sick asf like damn imagine they turn those box lookin things into whole tentacle monsters n stuff
    > hunger and mana bar will be displayed separately on the top left of your screen with the generic little bars coming out of a circle with your avatar in it
    > skill casting like L-R-L will actually not be turned into buttons because I was thinking about it and decided that i like mouse combos better
    > I really want to say make it anime style im sorry

    World changes:
    > god damn barrier blocks preventing me from climbing mountains will stop existing
    > dungeons or some like grinding towers are now the main way to get gear screw chests if i have to grind something id rather it not be lootrunning and instead fighting monsters
    > in fact, delete chests
    > I am not a fan of the scroll taking soul point thing can we just have a designated teleporter in each town/city

    New stuff:
    > I'm feeling tameable mounts, not just horses
    >like a farmable tower that gives you currency so you can exchange for eggs for mounts?
    > terrain-based weather like blizzards and sandstorms
    > a dossier on encountered mobs
    > an achievment book
    > double jump will be a thing
    > grappling hooks will also be a thing
    > skill tree please make it like pokemon so as i level up i get new moves but i can only have 4 >:|

    Quest changes
    > The jumpscares in some of the quests will actually be scary asf, and the game will be marked with explicit content because it wont just armor stands for dead bodies and redstone for blood
    > quest items that you will "need for future quests" WONT TAKE SPACE IN YOUR INVENTORY and will instead just be marked as "do you have it or not" and produced when a later quest asks for it
    > currency will also NOT TAKE SPACE IN YOUR INVENTORY and will have a designated currency thing
    > the nice cinematics will turn into even nicer cinematics

    Multiplayer
    > I like the multiplayer system wynn has, let's keep it
    > we can keep guild wars even though i dont know how those work
    > pvp will be balanced and classes like archer wont be busted and broken builds like ref or poison will... not be broken
    > pvp will be something you can do for fun or queue into ranked games for best of 3 to get end of season rewards (like eggs for pets or something)
    > because currency does not take up space anymore, trading will not be limited to 9 stacks le per window!
    > assassin will also( because its the only one that cant right now: mage and shaman give hp archer and warrior give speed and strength + res) be able to provide some sort of buff like decreased stamina consumption

Wynncraft’s rights are purchased by Tarsier Studios and the game is transformed into a more fixed adventure/horror styled game rather than an RPG, similar to their Little Nightmares series however with important differences.

You take the role of a runaway child who had escaped indentured servitude in Fruma, and fled to Wynn... only to find it to be a dystopian, war torn province.
The player has access to magic, however it is very limited and does not allow for extreme amounts of combat save for fighting against one of two enemies at a time that are of similar stature to you. It however does prove as a useful game mechanic for solving puzzles/evading the corrupted creatures that run rampant across the province and oppress it with an iron authori-totalitarian fist.

The game has the player run across multiple biomes/cities and evade/defeat multitudes of powerful, horrifyingly eldritch creatures that rule these areas and terrify its inhabitants, all the way until they finally reach the Roots or Corruption, and meet the final antagonist.

in the end, the player is infected with Corruption and is awarded with incredible amounts of power. They eventually defeat the final antagonist, and the final scene of the game shows the corrupted player exiting the Roots of Corruption, and brandishing their newfound magic in both hands, before noticing a silhouette of a nearby village and launching an attack towards it.

The game is received incredibly well by critics and the rest of the gaming world for its very minimalistic story telling and unique but also entertaining game design and setting. The game follows in the footsteps of the original Wynncraft in many ways, particularly with being incredibly rich in lore, though it is more difficult to notice in comparison to the original game.

Former players of the original game do miss a lot about Wynn, however most agree that the new title released by Tarsier Studios is still a great game and is a very well made spin on the setting and theme of the original Wynncraft.

Also it costs 30 dollars for 15 hours of gameplay just like the Little Nightmares series. Seriously, wait for a fucking sale.

Welcome to Wynnic Revelations. Square Enix has bought the rights to Wynncraft (for some reason, just to flex that they can do MMORPGs) and Tetsuya Nomura descended from his throne after looking at the lore and said... "pathetic".

2022 February: Wynncraft announced they were bought by Square Enix, and that they will close down all servers at June. They will NOT offer any refunds for the amount of money players put into the game. They also mention that "Wynncraft will not die, for it will forever be remembered, and new potential is in the horizon" to many people's confusion. Behind the scenes, members of Square Enix reached out to the CT for details behind Wynncraft and it's vision. They also made an agreement to not share any future plans of what they would have released.

2022 June: Wynncraft has offically shutdown. Forums was all locked and archived. All of the Wynn team
disbanded, and went their seperate ways. Some were offered a job at SQ, but most declined.

2022 October: A Wynncraft fan suddenly found a website that's titled "Wynnic Revelations" with only some information and a couple of images. News spread out across the Wynn fandom, and apparently SQ went the Final Fantasy 14 route, and completely rebuilt Wynncraft from the ground up, with familiar layouts, but everything was given a new coat of paint. All semblances of Wynncraft looking like Minecraft was gone. Every NPC looks like a realistic anime style from Final Fantasy games, there is a custom character maker, music was completely revamped, nothing looked blocky, and all items and particles are all unique in their textures in HIGH DEFINITION GLORY with dynamic movement animations. Some Wynn fans are skeptical, but assume it's too early to make judgment calls when there isn't a trailer.

2022 December: SQ releases a cinematic trailer of Wynnic Revelations, and WR is now known to the general public. While it doesn't show any gameplay, it's cinematic is unlike any seen before and no one could originally tell it was associated by Wynncraft. It conveys a feeling of war, turmoil, and that the world your in is in despair and it's fate is quite grim. All with a general theme of your actions will have an impact, and consequences. This caused a lot of hype for the next MMORPG by SQ with a darker tone and speculations of what the story is like. While a very small number realized it's associated by Wynncraft, it's not well known by the public. The Wynncraft fandom doesn't know what to make of it, since it seems like the trailer is hype, and they noticed they it'll keep the story of Corruption, but there wasn't any gameplay in that trailer. A release date wasn't given, only that development was in progress, leaving people to build up hype and few people to reach out to Wynncraft veterans.

2024 September: SQ releases a trailer of Wynnic Revelations, and it... looks great! For the average viewer. However, for Wynn veterans, they were a bit mixed. The trailer seemed to confirm what they thought, and Wynnic Revelations used the same overworld and landscapes, with updated graphics. Also, gameplay was seemly left intact with similar spell system, classes, and how gear works. however, everything that seemed to make Wynn special became diluted in the process. Combat seemed a lot more spammy, all the numbers seem to be boosted by 10x, enemies seemed to soak a lot more hits. While your character is customizable, and the world looked amazing, it seemed like it's all visuals, and watered down traditionally MMORPG gameplay. Sure, the core gameplay was left intact with sick animations, but it seemed more tedious, or empty for combat. The release date said it'll be somewhere at 2025. However, keep in mind, after so long after the close of Wynncraft, a lot of the fandom has basically died down, so most of the hype going around was from people who didn't know what was the original Wynncraft.

2025 June: 3 years when the original Wynncraft closed, Wynnic Revelations was released. It was to massive postive praaise for it's amazing graphics, and flashy gameplay. However, OG Wynn veterens felt very alienated. There was more of a P2W feeling with being able to buy higher end gear and cosmetics. The game was a subscription based service of $20 per month. Ranks were scrapped, but Bombs and Totems are now buyable. There's only 100 Worlds to select from that can hold thousands of players at a time to make the world more alive. Spells are now Keyboard 1 tap inputs. Gameplay felt slower, and more muddy as they assumed. Oddly enough, Professions were sped up in how much grinding you have to do. However, all of the content has more of a focus of multiplayer, with dungeons and even some quests requiring multiple people. While WR kept it's open world like structure of being able to explore to your accord, unfortunately, the quests are now very linear, following a sequences, with very little side quests to deviate from it. There was also a lot more content. Wynn, Gavel, Corkus, Fruma, Dern, even the joke areas, Bloomi and Morgor, along with even more "providences" like T'Rya, Meacoth, Neo Ishia, and The Nether. The world was now 6 times bigger than what Wynncraft was in 2022, with a lot more content and variety of places and quests to explore. The level cap was raised to Lv. 200. A lot more items were added, mostly involving Mythics and items with Major IDs. Also, with better servers, there's now World Bosses events, where everyone in a world can fight against ludicrously difficult bosses with up to 10000 players at once. These costed an immense amount of resources from players to pool together to summon with an expected survival rate of 5/100 on average of surviving to win against the bosses, even with days of attempts and studying the bosses. All of the lore was left intact, and even expanded on, with high budget cinematics, with it being very interesting and true to the CT's visions and even expanded on... However Tetsuya Nomura had to put in his good old "magic touch" to story telling, and let it very confusing to where TrapinchO is rolling in bed at night staring at the ceiling completely in shambles of how the lore was changed and now feels what it's like to be a Kingdom Hearts fan from the beginning. 10 new classes were added, each with their weapon items, distinct gameplay, and spells. Each class also now has 8 spells that can be used at a time out of 24 options for each class. Also, quests had impacts on the player's world, where some decisions can have them see entirely new content where one choice could have not, encouraging replayability, and cemented the feeling that your actions had an impact to this dynamic world. Also, the world was DARK as the original and the first trailer implied. While not being too gorey, most players walked out of it with a feeling of hopelessness and investment to change the world for the better, and those you've come to know and get close to in the world die all around you. All of this sounded amazing for a Wynn veteran, however there was something lost in the process beyond the gameplay. The community and soul was lacking. Since this was more open to the public, WR has a huge population which made the economic very wack. Mythics are now vastly rarer to find, with the equitant being having to find a Mythic times 1/1000 to compensate with the bigger player base. Inflation is an all time high, with Stacks being almost standard for trade. PvP was rebalanced, with a return to The Nether PvP, but it was dominated by people who choose to pay to win. Bombs now only effected a Party instead of a World, so it was harder to grind and solo. Toxicity also became more rampant with the larger playerbase. There is a Forums for WR, but there's no General Suggestions to give the developers feedback, creating a huge distance between t he development team and the fanbase. Then, there's the soul. The P2W aspect is very apparent, and noticeable in PvP, while not being required, the cosmetics, higher gear, Bombs for grinding, and packages for materials needed to empower stuff at the push of a button behind a price tag does definitely push for it. With the more linear story, a lot of the freedom was squished for a more on rails experience for the story. Sure, you are still able to explore at your own pace, but the story felt slow if you just want the rewards. Also, while the world is dynamic and dark, the NPC you come across feel so... one note? Sure, there are characters as interesting as some as Wynncraft, but none that reach the level of Lari in terms of complexity, which hinders the investment people draw into. And while some NPC from Wynncraft return, like Lari, Aledar, Maxie and are even expanded upon, SE adds some new more prominent NPC that makes them pushed as the "marketable" face of WR, that leaves a distasteful taste to veterans. Also, like how veternss noticed earlier in the 2nd trailer, the gameplay is slower and more like a tradtional MMORPG. It felt like there was less incentive to dodge and get good at the game, when you can tank a lot of stuff and enemies are sponges in HP, coincided with the fact to show flashy bigger numbers, values/numers are for the most part, multiplied by 10 as compared to Wynncraft. That, along with everything feeling more bogged down, the classes while having diversity, ironically became more dull, with them having to stick to a certain role like Warrior is Tank and only Tank, and Mage is Spell Spam and only Spell Spam to get anywhere, ruining the original customability ant the point of custom items of Wynncraft. While a lot had to be reblanced, strangely a lot of design choices still lingered for classes, like Mage being OP, and Warrior being bottom tier to veteran's disappointment. All of this left a distaste from some veterans, while some stuck to it but lingered with a feeling of "this isn't for me, but nostalgia, hype, and the continued story tho". However to the general population, it did very well, and was a financial success with positive reviews everywhere.

2026 August: Wynnic Revelations receives it's first expansion, "Untold Remains" with new lands, higher level cap, and more everything. However it wasn't free, but people still generally found it to be a positive experience and worth their money. Many people still enjoyied it, but at this point, most of the Wynncraft veterans left the game, and accepted WR to be it's own thing. The future of Wynnic Revelations is unknown (also cause I don't want to type more of this, I'm lazy :c), and while it's "I can't believe it's not Wynncraft!", it lost the heart of the game, and the defilement of the dream that was Wynncraft, officially died.

Update 1.42.3: Wynn Reborn: Part V

    Hello everyone!

We're back reworking all of the Wynn province (again) so that you have to find all the new discoveries :)

    NEW QUESTS

Four, shitty, half-assed quests, none of which add to the lore, have been added! As a bit of a nostalgia bump for oldies, they will be structured identically to the old Gavel quests pre-1.20, where you have to grind enemies for ingredients, travel halfway across the map for some magical blacksmith to make a helmet, equip the helmet to mess up your entire build, get softlocked in a cutscene, die, and kill a laughably easy boss for minimal reward.

    The new quests are:

    Corruption Again Pt. I
    Corruption Again Pt. 2
    Wow Another Fetch Quest
    Desert Trouble

We also removed Deja Vu and Misadventure on the Sea as they were too long or something.

    NEW MOUNTS
Horses aren't all! You can now ride two new mounts:

    cow

    Rewarded for completion of Cowfusion
    Literally slower than shift walking

    flame dragon of death
Purchased from the shop for $199.99 (the first minute after the update goes live it will be a whole 2% CHEAPER)
    Destroys everything in your path
Kills players even not in hunted

    NEW BUILDS
Remember the oversaturated builds of last revamp? Well buckle up! We have added the diamond block to our pallete and since it's shiny and shit we used it everywhere! We used a terribly-coded ripoff of Blender to make the new villages, where there isn't even collision so you can just walk right through them!

We decided to also rework Emerald Trail again so that you're instantly hit with a buttload of ads for our store (Whcih you should totally check out btw)

    NEW BOSSES
Two new boss altars were added across the map. One in Wynn, one in Unsilent Expanse.

Wynn Altar - Altar of Death (Lvl 12)
Challenge this laughably easy boss with easily abusable game mechanics! It's drops are also super overpowered and unbalanced cos balancing is hard

Unsilent Expanse Altar - Altar of Death Also (Lvl -1)
This boss literally one-hits you and pulls you in. He has randomly generated HP and teleports around the arena and summons a flurry of lasers or something. What a fun and challenging boss fight!

    SHOP CHANGE
Emeralds are now 25% less expensive, but to compensate emeralds can no longer be accquired from quests or chests. Guess you gotta get it from killing mobs now!

    ITEM BALANCING
haha lol we didn't do shit the terribly unbalanced items of literally every update after 1.20. have fun with a broken economy

    BUG FIXES
for some reason game devs put this bit in. oh well guess we gotta too

Im happy to present to you the worst wynncraft fanfic ever!
Well, it technically follows the topic! It is about wynncraft in 2022!

Prologue: In 2021 Minecraft became so big that Microsoft decided to invest into a high quality server and turn it into its own game, the goal was to create new game in Minecraft universe (like Minecraft: Dungeons)
They also decided that its time make first ever game using technology similar to the one from SAO
    What could go wrong?
    Its just a minecraft server...
    Coffee
On May 20th a cup of coffee was accidentally split on a computer. Instead of making it possible to experience Wynncraft as if it was a real world...it brought Wynncraft into real world.

"It looks like I will have a pretty good day"
I said to myself while walking near my house, listening to some very epic music.
And then I heard massive explosion. I felt it must have happened somewhere near.
I looked at my house and...a huge black spike was there.
And not only there, a lot of similar spikers were nearby. The ground around them turned into red rock.
    "My family..."
And then another spike emerged from the ground under me

When I woke up I was laying in a bed and there was a man sitting on a chair next to me. For some reason I said one, specific word.
    "Aledar?"
    The man seemed confused.
"How do you know my name"

    No
    This cant be true
As soon as he confirmed that his name is indeed "Aledar" I realised what the black spikes were
    They were the Corruption.
I had no idea why Wynncraft even came to my mind in such moment, maybe I just played it too much.

When I was thinking about it a woman entered the room and just to confirm that I was right I said
    "Elphaba?"
She was just as confused as Aledar.
"Somehow our guest knows our names, do you have any idea how he learned them?"
"No, I dont know what is happening, but Lucio said that a big group of zombies is coming, we wont be able to win with them. We need to run. Now."
I decided that I shouldnt just sit there, especially after what happened.
"Hey, I know that you are suprised, I also dont know why I know your names, but...can I stay with you? I dont have anyhere else to go. Also, how did you found me?"
    Aledar grunted.
"We finished fighting with a group of monsters and noticed a body near a corrupted spike. I dont think I need to explain whose body it was."
"You know, talking right now isnt the best idea."
"You are right Elphie, lets go. Also, take this knife, this journey will be dangerous."
I took the knife and we walked out of the house.

    Few hours later...

"Guys, we have been running for quite some time, can we rest, please?"
"Lucio, we cant stop now, the undead are still too close."
"But Aledar, I could just blow them up!"
"Why do you always underestimate your enemies? Not every problem can be solved with simple explosion spell. Wait, I think I saw something behind this tree."

We stopped and Aledar slowly walked to the tree.
    "RUN!"
That was the last thing he said before explosion happened and huge clould of smoke covered him. Corrupteds started emerging from it. Everyone was trying to fight but we got separated in this chaos.
I felt huge pain in my heart and fainted.

I woke up in weird prison, there was a lot of blood there. It looks like it was in a some sort of cave. I looked at my left arm and...
    It wasnt there
Or at least, it wasnt human arm
It was green and stinky, like it came from...
    zombie.
I realised that I was turning into zombie, probably one of the corrupteds wounded me and it was enough to start the process.
But instead of just accepting my fate I decided to fight and hopefully save someone from the cataclysm known as the Corruption.
Thats why when an old man came to the room and grabbed a body laying near me I finished preparing the escape plan.
The bars of my cage were in really bad condition, specifically, there was a small hole in them. However, if I tried to put my hand through it, it would become a bloody mess because of how sharp the broken metal was.
Well, it looks like a hand that isnt yours can help you sometimes...
I managed to grab the key to the cage and free myself. While running away from this cave I noticed a lot more blood and metal pieces
    Urelix
If Aledar, Elphaba and Lucio are now real then why not Urelix I guess
    Aledar, Elphaba and Lucio...
    I hope they are ok

Its been two days since I escaped Urelix's lab and Im not pleased to say that now not only my hand is green like Shrek.
In fact, most of my body is.
I saw a corrupted yesterday and decided to test something. I walked to him and he...ignored me. This (hopefully) means that since I am part zombie, corrupteds will ignore me.
This was my chance to do something.
I killed that corrupted and covered myself in rotten flesh to make me look even more "corrupted".
Today I was walking and saw a huge horde of undead, I was terrified when I realised that Bak'al is with them.
But if Bak'al and huge army are there...it means that they are probably going to attack something bigger than a random house in the middle of nowhere.
Thats why I decided to follow them, but I stayed far from Bak'al, he was probably the only one who could notice that I am still alive
Well, I kinda am, but not for long.
In the evening we arrived to a city and I was shocked when I realised that it was pretty near my house.
The Corrupteds started attacking the city and I pretended that I joined them.
In fact, I was sneaking to lone corrupteds to kill them with a knife I got from Aledar.
But then, I noticed a baby just laying on a ground.
I dont think I want to know why it was there.
I saw a lot of citizens running as far as possible from the city, maybe I could return the baby to them...

And then, I got shot in my stomach.
I was horrified when I realised that I opened my mouth, just as if I wanted to eat this child...
The bullet must have brought my mind back to normality...at least for a bit.
The man who shot me was aiming at me again and then I ran away, to the corrupted army.
I realised that its time to say goodbye and that this man will be better person to take care of the baby.
At this point I wasnt even hiding, all I did was killing as many corrupteds as possible.
One, five, ten...corrupted after corrupted after corrupted...
    And then I saw him
    Bak'al
He must have realised that I am in fact not a member of his army
At this point nearly my whole body became corrupted, only parts of the head remained.
I charged at Bak'al, maybe I could at least hit him once.
He created a new corrupted spike, which separated my arm from my body
I didnt even fell pain, maybe because of adrenaline or maybe I just couldnt feel anything anymore
I managed to get very close to him and then I watched as my knife broke on his armor.
Before he killed me with his powers I thought of my family, my friends and whole world that will forever suffer.
And even though its impossible to win this fight I wished them luck.

    warning: cringe edginess alert

    Right-left-right.

Three simple inputs that composed the majority of my gameplay. How many times have I entered those three clicks in pursuit of the dopamine rush generated when spotting an ornate purple box on the ground? Must be in the millions by now. I knew my actions were pointless, that I was investing hours of my precious time into meaningless pixels. I wanted to stop, but I could not. I felt as though I had too many fond memories and too many meaningful friendships to stop. On top of this, the sheer amount of time I had invested into Wynncraft was staggering. If I quit, all of this would have been for naught.

Just as I finished off another group of mobs, a notification flashed in the corner of my screen: Salted had posted a new announcement on the forums.

"Today, we are happy to announce that Valve has agreed to purchase Wynncraft for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition of Wynncraft is something that the Wynncraft team and I feel will allow for the game to truly flourish, with access to resources we could only dream of. However, there is a caveat: the currently Wynncraft team, myself included, is to be replaced by Valve's far more experienced team. It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that this will likely be my last post— I truly will miss this wonderful community. On a side note, check out this new Lamborghini I bought."

Huh, I wonder where he got the money for that. Nevertheless, I was excited to see what a big company like Valve would be able to bring to Wynncraft in terms of development… At least that’s what I would like to say. Secretly, I was hoping for an update so out of touch, so poorly made that it would sever the connection I still had with Wynncraft, freeing me from its shackles.

Upon logging in, I was greeted by the same lobby as always. Entering an actual world was no different; it was the same as it always has been. Well, that’s to be expected. I mean, there’s no way they would be able to replace the entire content team immediately, right? Even if they rushed to push out an update, it would surely still take more than a day.

    Right-left-right.

A few weeks had passed. No news from Valve. Not even a courtesy update on the state of things or potential timeline for updates. There were rumors that Wynncraft would be made into a true video game soon, and the current Minecraft server would be subsequently reset. However, the new owners had not provided an ETA yet. Thus, I continued to wait.

    Right-left-right.

A few months had passed now. While Valve had begun an advertising campaign for Wynncraft, the server itself was left untouched, save for a few quality-of-life updates. The sense of optimism had now diminished, replaced by skepticism.

“If they really cared about developing the server, why haven’t they released any updates yet? Heck, they haven’t even been communicating with us.

While this is true, many players still continued to play. This was, after all still the same game we had always played. And besides, maybe Valve was just taking its time. I mean major updates only occurred once a year under the previous team!

    Right-left-right.

That brings us to where we are today. Valve has not added any new content despite having assumed control of the server for over a year now; this must be how the TF2 community feels. While their advertising campaign initially seemed promising, attracting an influx of new players, they made no attempt for follow-up updates. After reaching the endgame, most players had recognized that Wynncraft is going nowhere, so they wisely decided to quit. Others remained, desperate to stoke the hearth of nostalgia. I was not fortunate enough to be of the former.

Sitting in my room, basked in the eerie blue glow of my computer monitor. I'm not entirely sure what the time is, but I've been awake for at least 24 hours now. Endlessly slaughtering mobs.

    Right-left-right.

Is it worth it? No, of course not. This only direction Wynncraft can go from here is down. I keep telling myself that I will change. I keep telling myself that this would be it, that this would be the last time I logged in, this would be me, riding off into the sunset without looking back. Yet here I remain, stagnant in my inaction just as the server in its development.

    Right-left-right.

Outside, I could hear the sound of birds chirping, the sound of pedestrians chatting with each other, the sound of cars rushing down the street— the sounds of life. At that moment, a beam of vibrant sunlight penetrated the heavy cloth sheets shielding my window, illuminating my dimly lit room and causing me to squint my eyes in an attempt to adjust. Was the sun always this bright? After a few moments of deep thought, I pulled the curtains back in place, confining myself to the familiar darkness once again. Now was not the time to get distracted; for more mobs had spawned.

    Right-left-right.
