Can I just bump this? This is still an issue and @Salted still won't answer about why it's a perentage now.

 

Dude I get that you're upset about the new Life Steal mechanics, but you'll just have to manage. Things change and after the powder update players will get much stronger. In the meantime just know that you'll have manage mana consumption better and not get trapped. When simply traveling around for general purposes in a high leveled area just have 3 hp pots on hand just in case. During Boss battles where you seldom pick up items, feel free to have more than 10 potions in your inventory. Find ways to cope with the current system and eventually it too will change.

Do what Selvut says. If it really bothers you, just switch your build from Life Steal to Health Regen. That's what I've done and I haven't had a problem since.
