    Honestly, I think one of the biggest problems here is that we've become way too dependent on life steal. My level 53 archer has 5/2 life steal and 8 Health regen, and I've managed to stay alive successfully while being in Gavel. You killed about 10 mobs and got about 100 of your health back, I'm sure that if you kept your distance and didn't purposely get attacked you would have done okay. And keep in mind guys, we always have potions. But yeah, I agree on one thing, life steal should not be so random. Change that and I'm good.

    Exactly my point. I would be so happy with life steal if it wasn't random, the mechanics aside from the percentage are perfect right now. If I wanted to make a melee build based around life steal and they went back to the non-random way, I could.

    I think the reason life steal is randomized is because it only works for melee. If you were guarunteed to get health back on every melee strike, very/super fast weapons would be somewhat overpowered. The random chance prevents this by scaling your odds to get health back by your attack speed tier.

    It wasn't every strike, it was every 2 seconds, if you hit something.

    Dependent maybe, but lifesteal is the purpose of some builds which is not viable anymore now. Gavel has been out for like 2 months now, so I don't see a reason to suddenly smash it into pieces (should have been done way sooner). I can list a lot of things that actually need fixing right now with way higher priority over lifesteal. I agree for some skills (e.g. warriors scream) it was somewhat OP, but in general the system worked fine. No need to fix something that isn't really broken.

    The new Life/Mana steal system not always activating is both good and bad for me;
    Le Rewind I Use:
    Rewind Stats.png
    It's good, because I rarely lose mana to the negative Mana Steal so I can keep casting spells.

    It's bad, because I have to drink potions to keep my health up instead of having it restored by hitting enemies (Which I'm sure Rewind's purpose was: Hit enemies to counter the negative health regen).

    Err, I know my idea about steal IDs might be quite absurd to some but I am just going to get on with my view of this issue.

    Alright, I got to admit that life steal is a little too random and just needs to be a little more frequent. Strength of the life steal does not really matter in the current Wynncraft comparing to the frequency of the life steal effects. However, the problem is if it were to be too frequent, potions will be useless once again, so do not expect a giant upgrade on these steal IDs.

    For the first month of Gavel's release, people got used to the new life steal quite quickly. It was easy to depend on the new life steal because of the situations that it was used in, like really using life steal to chance soloing Qira as your HP gauge bumps up and down so quickly or grinding with no potions. Once life steal wasn't effective anymore, people got very upset as that is what they really depended on to do those kinds of things. Potions held potential to survival, but they probably just hadn't noticed that until then. I mean, potions in any role-playing game are supposed to have some effect. Having a simple identification trample over a larger system like potions is quite off. In other words, potions were made for a reason. Use them! Don't fully depend on things like life steal, its supposed to be a simple identification which grants small bonuses time to time. And who knows, maybe one day identifications will break like how poison once did.

    But against the purposes of some equipment which are meant to be dependent as hell on identifications like those, I feel as if instead the equipment's dependability on these identifications which changed throughout the Gavel update should be decreased. Some may view this as a lot of work to rework all these extremely ID-dependent pieces of equipment, so another solution can be to just slightly buff the effectiveness of these identifications or to the way it was before, but that would be too lazy. There needs to be some kind of balancing between the frequency of life steal. But for the time being, get used to potion usage.

    I've pretty much repeated what the others said, but to conclude my point, life steal is a little too random but should not be made too powerful either or else potions would become useless, and these steal IDs should be able to meet the needs of the ID-dependent pieces of equipment, or just nerf the dependability of these pieces of equipment to where it does not give the player an actual disadvantage.

    I feel like they need to buff health regen items instead so they're actually useful. Most health regen items I've came across usually vary from 10-100 HP regen. Moreover, these items that have regen are usually pretty shit. Although, there is Guardian which is the best item for this. Also, my friend and I were testing +HP regen % the other day and from what we know it does nothing at all.

    @XavierEXE I think you got confused on what indicates Life Steal. Life Steal looks exactly like normal regen, but you won't notice it unless you're looking at your numbers. It will NOT flash, so you should delete that part out so people don't get confused when their Life Steal isn't working.

    You have to hit the mob 20 times with assassin normal attack to get life steal.. lmfao

    While the warriors can still life steal 5 times in 10 sec with war scream...

    Assassin needs a big buff, fact

    The quality of the rewind doesn't matter if the frequency of life steal is random. He could have a maxed rewind but it doesn't matter if it doesn't activate when he needs life most.

    I find my Rewind to activate quite reliably, but I also got a fairly bad one, meaning that when it does activate it's much less substantial than it ought to be. It has 100 life steal and -30 health regen. How he got one with -48 health regen is beyond me.
