I'm a new player who is playing acrobat since I like mobility but right now I feel like I'm in a very uphill battle during combats even 5 levels lower than me. I know this might be a skill issue, but I'm wondering if this is a bad class for leveling and if things get better or if this is a common issue with a common solution. Any response is appreciated!

Acrobat can be a bit tricky at early levels, both because you lack tools for your archetype and because you depend a fair bit on IDs that are less common at earlier levels. It's also one of the more difficult archetypes to play imo, and requires a bit of work to get good at.

No class or archetype can't be used for leveling, but some will probably work better than others. If you want to play acrobat, I recommend sticking with it; it's better to play a more difficult class you enjoy than to have less fun with whatever is considered easiest in my opinion.

There are also a few things you can do to make it a bit easier.
First, check your gear. Is it for about your current level? If not, and it doesn't give really good IDs, change it out for something higher level. Accessories tend to last longer than weapons or armour, but always keep an eye out for better gear. At level 30, I'd probably try to not use any weapon or armour under level 25 unless there's some really good reason for it. The range of acceptable levels grows as you get higher level, but in general try to make sure most of your gear (especially your weapon) is kept up to roughly your current level.

Second, try to build for acrobat. With acrobat you're going to want a fair bit of mana regen so try to focus a bit on that. You'll also want spell damage, health regen, and possibly jump height. Melee IDs like mana steal or lifesteal matter less. You don't have tons of options at early levels, but stacking mana regen especially will make life way easier.

Third, skill points. I'd stack a lot into intelligence to make it easier to cast more spells. I typically like to go for three skills; one offensive, one defensive, and intelligence, in order to get three of them at a higher level (allowing you to use gear with higher requirements, which tends to be stronger). I'd emphasize defensive skill points over offensive if it feels like mobs are hitting too hard, or offensive over defensive if you feel okay about the damage you take and move just feel too tanky. That said, there's tons of options; putting points into every skill (a rainbow build) is always good and a great option for leveling too.

Fourth, git gud. I don't mean this in a condescending way, but acrobat is definitely one of the trickier archetypes to play and just developing the level of skill needed to use it takes some practice. It's really fun, and I'd definitely recommend you play it if you like it, but it definitely has a learning curve and it will take more practice and getting used to in order to do really well with it than most classes/archetypes would. I don't want this to discourage you from playing it, I just want you to be aware that it will tend to be a bit more difficult at level, especially in the early levels. It is still entirely feasible and there's no reason why you couldn't or shouldn't use it.

as a acro main important things are that as melkor said you need a lot of mana regen and other ids and low spell costs plus a lot of skill, and the wall jump node that is extremely important but its worth it and the mobility is really fun and you can do good damage and it can even be used as support as you can see in revs architect acrobat vid
