Got bored after getting no dopamine for actually doing stuff. Leveling slowed down drastically for me as I was heavily biased towards anything else than grinding in terms of getting XP. Friends I used to play with here also left, making me feel less motivated to play than ever. More content will get me back on for a while, but as it seems now there feels like something is missing. Maybe it's the old days that are going forgotten.
I have a feeling that I want to go back to those days. Boy, the nostalgia.

Just a lot of things really, first off some minor issues I had:
    Different texture pack/new lobby
Different/new mechanics (like the powder and identifying changes)
    Then to more major changes:
Classes/fighting changed (like with the new mana and stamina bars and how they affected the game play)
Difficulty finding new quests (with Gavel and all, but the new quest book some what helped it but it's still pain sometimes)
The overall feel of the game
And some other changes I didn't really like

However this is my opinion and for those many who still really like this game I respect your opinion. and it's still fun to play every now and then, but it's nothing like it was years ago.

you can disable the pack, but the game won't make sense
holy crap! a new lobby! this breaks gameplay so bad. you're in the lobby for what, 30 seconds? chill
so do you suggest that we never implement new mechanics and just leave the game to get stale? more so than it is now? what a great idea!
the only thing that changed with classes is that assassin became f2p and buffs/nerfs/fixes happened, honestly i don't see the combat mechanic being changed at all, besides meta shifts

quests have only gotten better over the years, if we took "Spider cave" or whatever that shit nivla forest quest is called and compared it to "tunnel trouble" or even elemental exercise, you can see a much better improvement. If you can't find the quest then you're just really bad with navigation and can't read co-ordinates
what overall feel? the game still feels as magical and as immersive than ever before

what other changes, care to explain?

Hey, I am definitevely annoyed by this comment, because of the lack of details you go into, and the fact that you totally ignore nostalgia, and that your brain keeps the good memory and deletes the bad one, but hopefully you'll be able to clarify what you meant by answering to me :D

What do you mean? I do not think AT ALL that the game was better before the texture pack was implemented, not only does it give a feeling of uniqueness to Wynncraft, but it also helps the CT to make better builds, that fit the style more, and even cosmetics! So many things wouldn't have been possible without the texture pack.
I do not find the new lobby worst than the old one (I even find it better) so maybe you can explain?
You got to understand that if wynncraft never changes anything, the game will just stay boring, changing the lobby to make it more explorable and nice to the eyes was a great idea.
I do not understand how to you, that makes the game worst, the new mechanics are just so much interesting, bringing strategy with the powder, and a whole market with the identifications.
I do not understand what you mean on this one, did you prefer when running cost you mana right away?
So do you mean the world is too big? I mean, if Wynncraft stayed to just Wynn, nobody would stay for too long, Wynncraft has such a big map, with so much to explore, and I mean, if you have struggle finding a quest, you can always grind, or look at videos that will tell you where to go.
And if you mean that you cannot figure out how to complete a quest, you have to know that its meant to be hard, to make you think and read the dialogue, not just click a NPC, go to another one, and then come back.
That is where I start to have a big problem with this : You ignore nostalgia sooo hard.
We all feel that a few years ago, it was much better, on anything, as long as we don't think nostalgia is a thing, if you were to really think about it, no, wynncraft's hasn't gotten worse, it has only gotten better :
    Guild fixes
Lag fixes would be the main thing, but also a so much bigger map, quests remake, more content and so much more!
    Can you explain?
Its nothing like it was years ago because years ago, you still had ignorance about wynncraft, everything was new, every quest would seem totally different, to you that would be used to more "usual" minecraft servers (build, pvp, survival), but now, you know what to expect in the game, seeing someone flying in the air having a spear in the hand feels "usual" and that is why you don't feel like you felt years ago.

This is exactly why i dislike forum people, you cant express your un-popular opinions. I told almost identical post about this and i got people "angry" too. Like jesus, he just told why he stopped playing. Not all people like every update.

I don't think you understand the point that me and @SpringVibes brought up.
We saw someone that apparently didn't like what Wynncraft had done, except we found that stuff was missing in what he was saying, we criticized it, in the hope that it could either bring him to clear the situation, or at least, to not have other players think what he said are valid arguments as of their current state.

Personally, my Wynncraft experience has been more on par with those of singleplayer story/adventure games. It's a great game, but eventually, you unlock everything (or get tired of going for tedious late-game achievements) and just kinda get bored.

I wouldn't say I've quit Wynn, but I have large spans of inactivity. I played a lot pre-gavel, hit 75 with endgame gear, took a couple of months off, came back for Gavel, got to 90, took another break, came back, got to 100, another break, came back for Corkus, got 4 classes to 100, a couple of mythics and stacks of LE, and then took another huge break. Each time I took a break, it would be for months, and each time I came back, I would play constantly for months.

I've been on this server for about 5 years now, and I love the game, but eventually, there comes a point where things get bland and boredom becomes a problem. This problem happens with every single adventure/story singleplayer games, but nobody notices it because the games are singleplayer with no "active playerbase" like Wynn.

And you also gotta keep in mind that no matter how well designed a game is, there are going to be people that quit. People get bored of things, that's how it works.

Updates are what keep games new and fresh, and with the massive complexity of Wynn as a game, it requires a lot for updates (builds, quests, items, music, coding and whatnot), and so updates are few and far between. However, when they do come out, the CT does an amazing job with quality. I think it's this that causes my large periods of inactivity as well as large periods of activity. Each update brings a ton of stuff so I would play constantly, but eventually, I'd unlock everything and then go inactive for months before the next update. Some people like this, others don't.

The CT could try to do something similar to other games. Release constant patches with new small things (easter eggs or small events) more frequently. I'm not on CT, so I don't know exactly how much time goes into making new content, but maybe something could be done with Quest Patches. Every month, release a small new quest to keep things fresh, or instead of doing huge item patches, release new items little by little in smaller patches.

I can't say how effective these types of updates are going to be, but it's what I've noticed in a lot of the other popular games that have large, active playerbases.

This is a little more than "Why I quit Wynn", but it's my 2 cents on my experience with the game.

dislike forum people? i don't like that term, 'cos im not only a forumer but i do actually play the game and contribute to its developement.

if someone quits wynncraft for X reasons, we as the CT want to see if that is a wider issue, we don't want people leaving our game!

There isn't really a dopamine hook for me anymore. There isn't really any sense of literal pride and accomplishment when I do things on the server. The bosses that use tracking/homing moves also contribute to why i quit. It's not fun.

tbh I stopped playing because I wasn't able to connect onto the server with my crap internet until now. But, I found a way via getting a newe computer with 8GB of RAM (Quadruple of what I was playing, but I can assure you that it's not the best still) and installing Optifine, which immensively sped up my loading times. I also was glad that they updated to be compatible with the latest secure version of Minecraft (1.12.2) because then I didn't have to make an exclusive launcher profile to downgrade for Wynncraft, only to upgrade into another version later.
