What Is The Point Of The Nether?

So the Nether isn't a realm?

 

i guess it would be, but it's one created for light and dark to fight

 

Okay, so what was the nether before Dern happened to it, and why does the silent expanse look like eyeballs when the nether looks like hell. Also, whats up with all the other realms like deaths realm? I get the basics, but when you look at the details nothing makes sense.

 

Not to mention again that all of this is just to justify having 2 hells; so why have 2 hells in the first place?

it was probably written this way to justify the existence of the nether while also using the light and dark realms (which is kinda dumb, but not much i can do about that)

 

This is one of the regions in Silent Expanse, there is a reason to it and you’ll discover it in one of the discoveries.

Oh... yeah the whole light vs. dark really messed up the lore...

 

Oh... I was hoping that the light and dark were like the smash Bros single player lore stuff where neither force is good, either takes over and it's not good. this kinda crushed that.

I thought Taproot was like Orphion or some being made of light? Why would he, she, or it go through the trouble of trying to cure the Decay and teach the player about it if they were secretly evil or something?

I like to pretend that the lore of Gavel doesn't exist minus the Molten Heights storyline.

 

Maybe it wants the light to take over? And by teaching you about it you're more likely to help it out by getting rid of the decay/believing it in general. I don't necessarily believe this, just playing devil's advocate here

 

But then wouldn't that make Taproot good since the Light is good or something? I'm kinda confused...

 

Nah what I was thinking earlier was that maybe both forces are evil/not good, neither better than the other and you are merely a tool they use to help spread their influence (mind you, you did technically help spread decay if it's truly spread by greed as seen in the quest with the people made into golems or whatever, and you've done some other sketchy stuff too that wasn't "good".) However, the quote from zombie on Taproot proves me wrong as the tree says the light is good and spreads happiness. (Unless it's lying like I said above)

 

I doubt Wynncraft's lore is going for that kind of complexity; the Light and the Darkness and the Elves are pretty 1 dimensional.
