How does this have anything to do with what her army is for? It's literally just about Qira getting a cold. Also, players shouldn't have to go to websites outside of the game to piece lore together.

This is literally stuff that would never be fit in game because basically nobody wants to sit through 500 dialogue lines about stuff that just fleshes out characters

 

So players are expected to know about and read 500 lines of dialogue outside of the game when nothing in the game mentions that is there.

 

There are lore about her during festivals, some quest like dojo, and probably more that I am not aware of.

Many other games have entire books that are important to the lore but not discussed ingame. A few short stories really isn't that weird. I do wish we had more of those and they were more visible though.

 

a disclaimer i don't know anything about fruma lore other than this thread

lore is there for the people who want to go down the rabbit hole for lore
if someone doesn't want to go down the rabbit hole they don't have to its just preference player by player
plus a lot of games are like this where lore is sorta implemented in the game, but just playing the game doesn't easily cue you into the lore

ill use valorant and fortnite as examples bc they're the first things i think of
valorant has a lot of random lore bits across the maps, but its pretty hard to piece them together if you're just an average player shooting people. plus one of the major locations for lore is on a 1 player practice map that you'd have to go out of your way for to get
fortnite lore is pretty much all based in the pve version (paid) of the game, not the battle royale, which is out of the way if you want to get most of the lore

Honestly kinda wish wynncraft to do similar thing like Runeterra where they focus more within the world without the player persence

it would be cool to explore something along the line of how people living in Wynn province in finer detail, I think it could offer us deeper view in the world

honestly this is probably the best way to implement your lore in multiplayer games where gameplay does not allow such things.

 

mm it depends game by game
each dev has a different preference on how much lore they want integrated into the game
i mainly play valorant so i keep up with the lore, most of which (although can be accessed through links on the main menu of the game) is online in the form of youtube videos. (which i may be biased but are hella cool both in terms of content and animation)

silverbones was my favorite character. i loved it when the player sneaks into the fruma castle and he said "time to rattle these fellas!" such an inspirational character. i was so sad when they killed him off

monumenta (another mcmmo server) has a whole short novel with exclusive MAJOR lore and nobody complains. lore exists in 2 forms imo: the straight-to-the-point stuff that explains why some gameplay mechanics are the way they are, and the real deep rabbithole stuff that only people who care will ever look into. in this case, the hive tells you what you need to know: qira is running a challenge at her hive with rewards. the rabbithole stuff elaborates on it.

 

we know that There is no war inside the Fruman walls.

 

It derailed into Qira because people (ThePurpleEmerald) started theorizing that Qira and Fruman Queen are the same person.

Honestly, I hope that Wynncraft will never do this. I get why people would like it, but I just really like that almost all of Wynns lore can be found ingame. It makes it immersive and easier to know what's going on (I'm lazy). Maybe they could do some very short stories, but major lore should always be ingame and easily accesible imo (so basically how it is now with the Qira story that was mentioned). If I want to read, I read a book and if I want to play a game, I play wynncraft.

Now back on the topic of Fruma.

There's this path like thing behind the Sodeta manor in the jungle. Would be cool if they made it into a shortcut into Fruma somehow.
I took a picture of it, but it was a while ago. I lost the picture and can't exactly remember how the path went. So best I can do is this:


not really lore related, but mildly interesting I guess (?) (and it's the only slightly interesting thing I'm able to tell about Fruma, besides what's already in this thread)

In the last stages of the RoL 4 quest, the connection between the plane of existence and the plane of influence is explained. We see that Gavel is influenced by the realm of light, that Wynn is influenced by the realm of war and that something unknown is influenced by the realm of darkness aka Dern. The first thing that comes to mind is the Silent Expanse naturally, but wait, if the other two connections are with specific provinces, and the SE technically isn't a province but a part of Wynn, it would mean that the diagram is wrong, it should have Wynn influenced by both the realm of war and dern. So in my opinion that "unknown" is the third province (not Corkus as also technically it isn't a province) but Fruma. And it surprisingly makes sense: as Gavel and Wynn are connected to the realm of light an the realm of war respectively, and what happens inside the province reflects the realm of influence, at the same time an extremely tyrannical, magic and fulfilled with dark secrets province such as Fruma can easily be connected with the realm of darkness.

About how it would be connected, well, idk. Maybe Gateway Island could be technically a part of Fruma like how Selchar is technically a part of Wynn and so the connection would be there, but it seems quite forced onto it.
