    Unpopular Opinions
    Playing mage through all the quests to level 96 made me want to quit, it really is just that bad and annoying
    Most IDs have way too large of a range making trying to figure out how much they're worth an absolute headache
    I've been using an AZ for bloody ages and I absolutely love it, dumping all my skill points into dexterity and ending up at around 83% crit rate makes me feel good
    Why is there no backtracking at all? Seems like once you're done with a town you never need to go back again which is quite sad
    Detlas is a bad town and I shall always be a Troms boy till the day I die (Although I slightly prefer the old Troms with the big hill on the right side of town, I do like the new version very much)
    I've spammed the NPC dialogue in nearly every single quest that I didn't think was relevant to the bigger Wynncraft story (So a hell of a lot of text)
    Following on from that, why once we all become big strong soldier people do we then go help a chef make food rather than idk jumping into the portal to fight the corruption or actually trying to find a way to stop it?
    I love the music and hum a lot of the tracks to myself without realising daily (Troms and Molten Heights mainly)
    Why aren't there market NPCs in every decently sized town?
    Why is the Qira Hive ToA but with extra Gavel? Why would spider like monsters set up loads of fighting arenas?
    I much prefer the quests that are much more comedic
    Fuck the canyon. Just fuck it. Hard.
    Why is horse breeding a thing? Either make the higher tiers a dungeon/quest reward or increase brown horse cap to 40 and scrap the other 3. Horse breeding just seems like a way to throw emeralds down the toilet
    Why is parkour a thing if you're going to give all the classes a way to skip huge chunks of it?
    A 5th class is probably completely impossible unless they wanna do something wacky with Corkian's electromagic (which is questionable to begin with)
    Fallen Factory is way too long winded of a dungeon for some of the rewards to require 8 tokens especially considering how amazingly common it is for the dungeon to just break and force you to /kill to get out and retry
    I'd be perfectly fine with Mythics being flat out removed/nerfed to legendary level
    Being under level 75 is way more enjoyable than being over level 75 in practically every single way
    I really liked being treated as an actual soldier for hire in quests rather than a random person
    Did I already mention Troms is the best town? Oh I did? Well it is so accept it.

    The fact that to get rich you need to cross your fingers and pray to the high gods to get a mythic and therefore be able to buy other mythics is saddening
    Sprinting taking mana makes me cry at night. Sure it's slightly fixed by the sprint bar, but even that doesn't last particularly long and takes way longer to recharge
    Pvp exists? In Wynncraft? Na mate never heard of that before
    If you're playing with friends and you're the mage, your friends should still be forced to carry healing potions. Yes I know I didn't get a boss token because I had to RUN AROUND HEALING YOUR LAZY BUTT BECAUSE YOU REFUSE TO CARRY HEALTH POTIONS

    The gavel update and this new update that just came out some time ago have decreased the quality of Wynncraft. I have gone on a hiatus and haven't played Wynn for about 1-2 years, and before then I was also on a hiatus for also around 1-2 years. I joined Wynncraft 6 years ago, and I loved everything about it. Kept playing and eventually the long-awaited Gavel update came out. I am actually not a big fan of the max level increase, but thats just probably because I had so much more I had to do on my other accounts, but that didn't really bother me to much, the level limit was always bound to go to 100 eventually. But what bothered me was the skill points requirement for armor and weapons. I kind of see the point in it, to force people to choose different varieties of armor and weapons, but I believe the factors of the xp bonus, fire/earth/lightning/air damage, and health increase do this enough. Before this there was a lot of thought that was put into skill points, would you put a lot into defense and dexterity? maybe pour all your points into attack and agility? But now you just change your skill points so you can use weapons and wear armor, it just feels pointless. I also feel that Gavel is nor near as interesting as Wynn, I just can't push myself to explore it thoroughly as I have done with Wynn, but that could just be because i'm used to Wynn. I also feel that over time, guilds have just become increasingly rigged. I have my own guild, currently level 36, that used to be in the top 5. I now find that it is incredibly difficult for smaller guilds to take territories as larger guilds just pour a bunch of emeralds into defending, and even with a somewhat decent level guild and a fair amount of people, it is nearly impossible to take territories.
    The economy update just feels pointless, it feels like it strays so far away from what Wynncraft is. It just feels so out of place, and I cannot find any incentive for myself to endlessly grind anymore that I already am just for xp. But I suppose it does at least finally give a purpose to junk drops from mobs besides quests

    And that's what I don't like about it, I've never really understood why it needed to be this massively luck based system opposed to an expensive dungeon reward.

    • idk abt yall but Epic Wynn and Nether's lament is the shit
    Builds:
    • There should be more reworks of builds, but especially in Gavel since Wynn is less shitty now
    • IDK how unpopular this is, but new Detlas is the best detlas. the old one was a weird mix of under and over detailed
    • a lot of the current terrain sucks and im glad it's being redone *cough* gavel border sucks worst *cough*
    Quests:
    • same as build opinion #1, a lot of quests are shitty and fetchy, mostly gavel
    • even though i personally think Lord of the Clock was fun, i don't ever want to bring it back
    Misc:
    • mage isnt op, i did giant rat as mage and died with heal pots

    to be fair, giant rat does a LOT of damage (i'm not being ironic) and you don't have meteor/snake unlocked

    Time for more unpopular opinions!

    • Unskippable dialogue in quests isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The purpose of quests is to teach you lore of the area and/or something to set you off on a fun adventure, not to rush through it in 5 minutes to get quick xp and emeralds.
    • Leveling up crafting professions is actually kinda fun. It’s nice to just explore the world and see what ingredients and rare mobs you can find. A common criticism is that you have to craft useless stuff, but you don’t have to, the only reason why you’re doing that is because you’re on your level 100 class. There are quite a few low and mid level ingredients that are really good for their level; Haros’ Badge, Bottled Fairy, More-Pearlescent Jewel, Frozen Ghostly Essence, etc. Although leveling up gathering professions is defintely too much of a slow and tedious process.
    • The story of Dwarves and Doguns was mediocre. I didn’t like how Axelus was the king’s son, and his death at the end felt forced. Everything else about the questline was great though, especially the storytelling and cutscenes
    • Like someone else said, Deja Vu isn’t amazing. Don’t get me wrong, I liked it because it was fun, and somehow was serious and comic relief at the same time, but it’s a bit short and just another time paradox story that’s been told over and over again.
    • King’s Recruit, while an improvement over the old, still has problems. First of all, it only explains the tip of the iceberg of the game. It focuses too much on professions now. Yes, I know Tantibus said it was because they’re an important part of the game now so he didn’t want it to be explained in a skippable quest, but if that’s the case, why are other important “tutorial” quests like Elemental Exercise and The Sewers of Ragni skippable? Yes, these quests can explain mechanics more in-depth to avoid the actual tutorial being an hour long, but it should be at least mentioned or referenced in the tutorial. The second issue I have with it is that it tries too hard to be like an actual quest. I’m mainly talking about the “Run” and trebuchet parts at the end, were they really necessary? Tutorials aren’t supposed to be fun and cool, they’re supposed to teach you about the mechanics of the game.
    • The Economy Update was necessary. Now you can finally get shit through working instead of relying on RNG. I know the gathering system isn’t perfect, but the way I see it, it could’ve been done in a much worse way. For example, what if you could sell your resources to a merchant, kind of like Seavale? That sounds cool on paper, but in reality, it would cause much more inflation. Also, the ingame trade market was a much needed feature.

    There are way too many items. Its so hard for me to understand all of them- ive been playing for months and a barely know which items are good. They also drop way to often- I don't need to change my weapon and Armour that much when im leveling, but if i go out loot running for 20 mins i get at least 50 items

    The item buyers/sellers have to be balanced. I know that we are supposed to sell items to players, and that should stay that way, but the npcs are insane. They sell legendaries for like 8 LE and then buy them for 5 (and you still have to pay to id them)? I think they should have at least a small guaranteed profit margin, like if you id something for 100 emeralds, them they offer you 110 to 130 for it.

    There should always be a use for towns, even if you are a way higher level. Add special features to places so you'd still visit almuji and stuff even at level 100

    Chests should be client sided, but very slow to regenerate

    the canyon of the lost look so funny the peaks go so high more spiky than super saiyan hair
    40s-early 50s is weird cuz u had so many quests before but the xp curve jumps up a lot i saw in the xp chart so llike it slows down and then people leave there so you could make it very slightly easier for xp gain there
    lots of my friend quit there

    Personally, I think a tutorial should be as fun as possible. I hate it when games hold your hand while telling you how to do everything at the beginning, and while the new King's Recruit quest basically does that at first the whole "run" scene probably makes it a bit more interesting. If anything the quest should have more stuff like that.

    Another unpopular opinion of mine: Poisoning the Pest sucks, and Thieving Rodents was actually a good quest. It's basically "talk to NPC -> walk -> cutscene -> walk with slightly more peril -> even longer cutscene -> talk to NPC". On the other hand, Thieving Rodents taught you that not all enemies are that easy, and the farmer NPC had a line about the player being able to find more work in Detlas, which I really liked for some reason. All in all Thieving Rodents was a good tutorial quest, and Poisoning the Pest is basically one overly gorey cutscene.

    reading this made me think of the only thing that i really dont like with wynn as an actual game

    forced, unskippable dialog in quests is generally terrible. specifically the intro quest, and the envoy part 2

    I play a lot of RPGs so maybe I’m just used to my hand being held, but idk, the end of the tutorial just didn’t feel right to me, and neither did focusing the whole tutorial on professions. Also, maybe I was just a dumb 12-year old kid back then, but when I first joined, I didn’t know what to do with unidentified items because there wasn’t an identifier in Ragni and it was never explained anywhere. Now, I bet newbies could think that the only way to get items is by crafting.
    I wouldn’t call Thieving Rodents a tutorial quest, after all, shouldn’t it be common sense that there will be bosses and minibosses in an RPG? All that quest taught me that archer was a bad choice for me as a newbie and I should’ve chose mage (yes, the first class I ever tried was archer.)
