What Are Your Favourite Songs From The Update?

Corkus Docks is the culmination of everything I've learned thus far from writing music, it was the last song written for the update! I actually finished this two days before release and almost didn't get it done, so the fact that so many people enjoy makes this one special to me. I feel like it really captures the adventurous feeling of the whole update!

This is one that @Selvut283 and I collaborated on, though the majority of it was written by Selvut. It's upbeat and exciting, but I agree it feels less dungeony than it probably could have been. Selvut tried a cool echo effect in this song that we ended up using in other songs like Corkus Docks, and I'm happy with how it turned out. At least it sounds more dangerous than the normal ocean theme, right?

This was the first song Selvut wrote on his own, and I think it fits the area quite nicely. It has a unique celtic vibe that fits Efilim but doesn't really work anywhere else in Wynncraft, and I really enjoy it.

Looks like I did 7/4 time well then! Success!

I don't know how I made this song not sound repetitive but I've listened to it 100 times over and not gotten bored of it yet. The bridge with the alternating, almost canonic bass drum part really separates the original melodies from the end of the song and keep the adrenaline pumping.

This song wouldn't exist without Selvut, it's perfect and I literally just extended the melody he came up with from the echoing part near the beginning, and changed like 4 notes. Thank him for this masterpiece ^-^

This was originally going to be a song for Dern actually, but we decided it fit the Kander Woods slightly better. Now you know a little bit of what to expect from Dern c:

I was going for more of a production line feel and less of a dungeon feel, but I see your point. I think it fits some parts of the dungeon better than others, like the boss, conveyor belt room, and clock tower.

The Yahya Fight on Legendary Island, and the Naragath Battle in Eye of the Storm. CAN I POINT OUT THIS SONG IS IN 13/16 TIME AND AT 480 BEATS PER MINUTE

5/4, and also in a mostly unused tempo that we have access to, which is 5.5 tps.

I put way too much effort into a town where only one quest npc lives, and it turned into one of my most favourite songs that I've written xD

Wind Fortress: I really wonder where this play. Somewhere in Sky islands? It's really fast with an action feel (and I love how around 1:40 there are these calm notes)
Trippy Fortress: Bigger picture area? Again, I don't know where this plays. But it's a kinda "funny" song. I like it!
Bantisu: It's good! This makes me think of something like "yo that's a great thing you're here now you're safe and all cuz that canyon sucks"
Upper Molten Heights: You mentioned it but it's clearly like Bantisu, which kinda makes sense because both area are up in the skies. Except that this time, the lower tone gives that nice lava-ey feeling!
Lusuco: The beginning makes me feel... Nostalgic? I don't know why it has a kind off dramatic theme. (Maybe it's just me tho). The song is really great, but I can't capture the snow/ice area like in the icy steps and nesaak song.
Crystal falls: Mh... An area with crystals... WynnEx crystal room? I have no idea where this play. Gylia lake? Can't tell. It's pretty good though!
Bob's tomb: "oh shit it's the legend who died let's take ragni and reincarnation song and mash'em up into a sad song how about that" Now was that ragni or detlas? I can't tell, I can only hear a very wynn-feel. People said that we could hear reincarnation in here, but I don't hear it :(
Time valley: i wish there was a clock ticking in the background, but hey, that's also really good!
Insanity: I don't know what to think of this one. Hearing this in a corrupted dungeon might really make me insane. It gets better after, I just don't really like this one, sorry!
FierceFoeV2: I didn't talk about it because I thought it was already in game before. Maybe not? Anyways, a great combat theme. I don't know where this play, but I think I heard it today or yesterday. Dungeon boss battle?
Pirate Cove: disappointed that i couldn't hear the "we are a pirate" theme. 0/8 m8. just kidding i love it!
jkgjkfghfg karoc quarry: (loving dem soundcloud names) Honestly, I think this was a great opportunity to add some of the Llevigar theme in here! It's still good, I get the feeling of "working" probably because of the sounds in the background (does that make sense? idk)
Gelibord: Really capture the theme of the area, nothing more to say, it perfectly fits. Haven't you posted this one in the your work section before?
Ancient Nemract: I'm pretty sure there was already a song for this, no? This song doesn't really capture the "everything was destroyed, there's only ruins now" feeling. I mean, I can kinda hear the nemract theme in here, but it still sounds too "happy". Doesn't mean it's bad, it's really good, just doesn't fit for me
Dissonance: I was doing this dungeon earlier, and I think it fits pretty well. Danger, a little icey feeling, it's good!

Oh and also,the songs are good overall,but I think they have a common melody that I can hear(some of them,duh),I'd like to see more diversity on the songs

Something I made, but there's no place for it to go in game and no plans for it. I just sort of came up with it. If we figure a place where it can work then sure, but for now it's just gonna sit on the soundcloud and sound nice.

also, crystal falls is I believe for the cherry blossom area of the canyon of the lost, though I cannot really be sure.

 

Yup, the last bit before it loops is taken from Bob's Reincarnation. Before that, I just came up with that on my own. If it happens to sound similar to something else, it was unintentional; Bob's Reincarnation was the only intended reference.

no seriously i feel A LOT of this song in galleons graveyard theme

 

pretty sure there is actually a song in game called Ocean which is a noteblock version of that
I think it plays in certain parts of the ocean like near Pirate Cove
it's probably based off that

ocean is like a slower version

 

In my opinion the Galleons Graveyard theme adds a unique energy that the other songs dont have.
