    Hello mates,

Bear with me here. If any of you have played Team Fortress 2, you might know about unusuals. What are these? They're basically rare weapons/items/cosmetics with particle effects on them, and they usually go for quite a bit more than non-unusuals in the market.
For example, this is the 'Green Confetti' effect (there are dozens more with varying rarities):

My suggestion is that when mobs drop weapons as loot, those weapons have an extremely low chance (~0.3%) to be unusual - i.e. to have particle effects around them. What would these particle effects be, you ask? Let me list some for you off the top of my head.
Of course, there could be many more due to the fact that every block in the game has a unique particle effect. but those are just some examples. You'll see that I put '[all items]' or a specific element after each effect - that means that Cool Threat, for example, is only available on weapons with predominantly high thunder damage (like Thunderlock).

Unusual items would have a purple nametag; the unusual effect would be listed in the item lore.

    Questions:
    • Are these cosmetic or do they offer multipliers?
    They're just cosmetic.
    • Why? That seems like a lot of work for something purely cosmetic.
You're right, it probably would be a lot of work, but the rarity of these items would mean that Wynncraft's economy would be given a boost (through trading) and players might even play more to get an unusual.
    • Hurr durr lag
There would be a toggle, /toggle unusual, for unusual particle effects - or even better, just turn your particles to minimal in settings.
    • But if people toggled unusual effects off, what would be the point of spending money on an unusual when some people won't even see it?
It's not just a weapon, it would be more like a vanity item - people could show off how many unusuals they have, maybe even invite Salted over to a coke-fueled unusual orgy, idk really.

So what do you think? Vote in the poll and offer critique below.

    Thanks, m8s

So, where would the particles reside? On the actual weapon? Because if we have player particles enabled, that would mess everything up.

I'd think depending on what item you're holding it would show the particles all around it. So if you had a long spear, like a Bob's Mythic, there would be particles slightly in front and back of you towards your right-hand side.

I hate to burst your bubble, but particle effects are used in wynncraft as a donation thing. If this were to be implemented I think people would donate less.

No, what he means is the weapon has the particles, not you, so it wont be circling around you, instead it will be on your weapon.

Also I think unusuals should be mich rarer then 3%

    You misread, it's 0.3%, not 3%.
In TF2 the chance of unboxing an unusual is about 1%, but since not everyone unboxes crates, it's balanced. But since weapon drops are much more common in Wynncraft, it makes sense to have unusuals be rarer.

This is a really good idea. I would love to see this in Wynn. But every idea does have its flaws, like player particles mixing with item particles. But besides that, +2 support.
