War-type Quest Concept

    So! My first concept thread since a while now. I used to do these all the time, and so let's do another one. I came of with this concept while reading another thread today, and I thought I would share it with you.

    The quest side of this concept would basically be that there is a war going on and you need to help fight in it. But the concept for part of this quest is moth like we have seen before.

    Basically you have 2 sides. Due to the whole "dwarven war" thing this could easily be Dogovi and Rodroc. Anyway so let's say Rodroc is a big bully to Dovogi and you need to help Dogovi win the war. You get teleported into a large battlefield. I'm the field you have like 50 enemy Rodroc Soldiers and 49 ally Dogovi Solders (when you count yourself you have an even 50). The soldiers and your side are blue named mobs. Both sides have the exact same stats.

    So what happens is the mobs all spawn in at once when you enter the room and don't respawn. So that essentially creates a battlefield. You know how the angles of valor/protection fight the angles of defense in the sky island? Similar situation here.

    Due to the fact that the mobs don't respawn unless someone else there the room, it is a real-time dynamic battle. You need to try to kill the enemy general or something who is a boss on the far side of the battlefield, but the enemies on the field are way to powerful to go through without help. So you end up needing to work on getting to the other side, killing enemies, and protecting your own troops at the same time.

    And this could be a forced-multi ending quest. If all your troops die but you stay alive you get captured and go through a certain quest path where you need to escape and Rodroc wins. If you kill all the enemies but not the boss you capture him and Dogovi wins. If you successfully kill him Dogovi wins and you get honored with a special reward. No matter what you get XP.

    And then later if there are more quests in the series the way the battle turned out could have en effect on future quests.

    Now I am just using Rodroc and Dogovi as an example, but I think you understand the concept. You need to get through a fight were instead of you verses hordes of mobs, you are legit part of an army.





    So yeah, that's my little concept. Feel free to comment!

    I don't want to do that because for all I know it could be Dogovi and Rodroc together against the dragons or something. I don't want to mess up with the lore that will be released in the update (otherwise it would end up being both a quest and s theory)

    It would really help players immerse themselves into their characters role more :yum:

    Great idea, the problem is that we might eccidentally hit our allies when you using spells. Maybe make it that we can't hit them

    Hence why it's a challenge

    I was thinking about that. Either you have twice (or however many times) the number of mobs in the arena, or you just have them all respawn upon a new player entering

    Well, if the mobs respawned whenever another player joined, then you could possibly be stuck in that battle for hours if people kept joining.

    That is true. I was thinking of making it so you can't enter the room if a battle is in progress, but that may be annoying. We could have multiple battlefields, but that may be just as hard.

    This is the one problem I could not figure out
