yea but it's still the biggest update wynn has ever gotten
Despite its age, the Gavel update had some amazing additions. To list some notable ones:
Elements (A huge piece of content that changed the meta. Can you imagine if 1.21 added some kind of new thing to the combat meta?)
The resource pack (Before then, the 4 weapons were a bow, shears, a stick and an iron shovel. This is actually the reason a lot of daggers are referred to as ''Shears''. At that time, it was common to have a 3rd-party Wynn texture pack.)
A full new province, technically larger than Wynn (Gavel was actually a couple of years in the making iirc, and the hype for it was huge, especially considering there was a giant door to it on what was, at the time, the northwest corner of the map. If you go to the current Southwest corner, you can find the gate to Fruma, which exists to create hype in a similar fashion.)
Level cap increased by 25* levels (Prior to Gavel's release, the level cap was 76 (counting the extra level) and Gavel was the update that pushed it to 101. It has been a long time since we've had such a level cap increase.
50 new quests
Human NPCs (Prior to this, every NPC was a Villager)
Mythic item tier added
Set items added (Replaced the ''Special'' item tier)
Added elemental mini dungeons to the canyon of the lost (Removed in the next main version of the Gavel update, were set to return as a new COTL dungeon called Mortal Mountain which has since been scrapped and the planned dungeon entrance repurposed into an Ultimate Discovery)
I know that technically 1.14.1 is the gameplay update, but it's a version of 1.14 so I'll count it. Picture it like the 1.20 patches when they add new stuff but it's huge. It actually came out 8 months after the Gavel expansion.
All minidungeons (outside COTL which had its dungeons removed) were turned into fully fledged dungeons
All dungeons reworked
2 dungeon bosses replaced (Previously the LS and SST bosses were ''Lava cow'' and ''Sand witch'')
Corrupted dungeons added
Sprint bar unfortunately added
7 brand new quests
20 quests reworked
Mobs buffed by being given more than 1 spell
Soul points reworked (Previously, reaching 2 soul points would make you lose EVERYTHING.)
Hallowynn update also counts lol (pretty sure this was the latest update to have come out when I joined Wynn)
2 new quests
The void area was added
Mob totems added
Hero rank added, cost $100 at the time (thank god they reduced the price, otherwise champion would have cost $200)
That's all that was added in 1.14 and its patches, and if this update and its main patches had never released, Wynncraft would NOT be the game it is today. With these updates, Wynn was ultimately modernized and changed forever. Disregarding this update because it's ''ancient'' is just plain stupid.
I literally cannot believe there are people who wish this update never came out, because it changed the game for the better.
When I was reading through the version history wiki page, I found 1.15. Damn, that update was pretty lame, but I remember it. I also remember sailing across the ocean one time when I saw people claiming in shouts that they had ''found corkus''. It was a small update, but it's the first update I remember.
Also sorry I ranted about how good the Gavel Expansion was on a thread about what the next update should be, but I just wanted to point out how good this update was.
Yes, in my opinion the Gavel update was the best. I had joined wynn in early 2016 and, to be honest if I joined just a few months before that, I would have thought it was just another sh***y pay to win faction server, and yes I am nostalgic for early 2016 wynn, just like how some people are nostalgic for even older, but I can't deny that 2021 wynn is WAY BETTER.
Edit: Also I checked the major updates section of the forums, and never realised how old Meaningful Holiday and Seaskipper captain are. I joined before those things were added. Damn i feel old now
fruma update so that the 'there is no war behind the fruma walls' can stop and move onto something new.
pls I've seen the same joke five thousand times in my short time here.
also I'm dying to know wtf is going on with fruma and how it fits into the lore.
I'd love this. They need to make more later-level ocean quests, perhaps we could get a multi-part questline that leads to a raid? Kraken, perhaps? They could also upgrade Selchar, make it into a proper city (perhaps add more islands, have them connected by bridges), it just needs a Liquid Emerald and a Powder Merchant, it could be a proper hub of the Ocean then.
Or imagine something like this: An ocean-based questline where you gather a huge army to storm the Fruman gate, and end Her Majesty's tyranny once and for all.
Would just like to point out that, while the Queen of Fruma is most likely to be the main antagonist of Fruma, there is stated to be a ''Fruman Royal Family'' by the Fruman History book in Llevigar's library.
While I would for Fruma to come out next, both Wynn and Ocean need reworking, especially Ocean...
The Skien Update. Replaces the game with Skien.
(Jungle update would be cool too)
Just a spells update would be cool. Wynn's combat is pretty much one cool feature away from being really really good.
We need Berb and Bee update
Am I the only person who dosent really mind?
Had to do it.
it was early in the morning and i got like no sleep last night ok
Yeah it's big
why would we go to fruma? there isn't even any wars inside those walls!
I think we need an overall Ocean/Jungle update, presumably in one update because the jungle is pretty small and the devs did this with Nesaak during 1.19.
