Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"He wasn't joking." Ruby says, not far behind Zoe. However, she doesn't show herself.

"Um, right... Let me see..."

After a moment, Xephyr rushes over.
"What's wro-oh..."
"Can you stop it?" Ihra asks.
"I... um... I'll try."
Xephyr starts paging through her tome.

 

Cecil checks on Kailee.

 

The blood on the ground is gone and her wound is closed and healed, but her tail is about half as long as it was before.

 

"Would the tail affect her in any way?"

 

Ruby feels a slight repulsion from Zoe, like she's physically being held back, but Zoe seems perfectly calm drawing up blueprints.

 

"She won't be able to fly well, have to relearn." Ihra says, letting Xephyr concentrate.

Ruby continues monitoring her before moving on to watching shadows.

Iruk just waits idly.

 

"Thank you Ihra."

 

Shadows appear to be working on all manner of items, some related to Iruk while others strange and hardly related. A few Shadows work on programming code, one quickly switching off of a webcomic and back to code once they see Ruby come close.

Eventually, Iruk is called into the fire guardian's room.

 

"Just don't go off and die, okay?"

Ruby chuckles.
"Funny how you can see me but the guards can't." She says before vanishing completely again.


Iruk heads over.
"This about the wings?"

 

A Piece Of cheese appeared from Thin Air...

 

"I'm not going to do that now." Cecil waits for Xephyr to put out the fire.

 

"A place where you p the dead. Sort of like a bed, but for the dead."

 

Once Iruk enters the fire guardian's room, he feels the massive spike in temperature hit him. The room is boiling hot, and many fire guardians work with molten metals on anvils and streams of magma. Oddly, the fire guardians seem completely fine with the heat; happy even. The room is quite large, with a hatch leading to the previous room, various pipes running along the ceiling and minecart-esce carts carrying materials to and from the room. Oddly, the room seems to be made of a rock-like substance compared to the metallic subtsance of the prior room.

"Ah, there you are lad. Yes, we'll be installing your wings now, we just need to put ya in our combustion room to keep your dangerous discharge." What appears to be the boss of the fire guardians says.

"Wow, so this is Iruk? What a special design!" A fire guardian says, walking over. She seems quite intruiged by the materials Iruk is made from, taking one of Iruk's hands and studying it.

OOC: To clarify, not literally ripping off one of Iruk's hands, moreso holding his hand.

 

Xephyr seems to be struggling, eventually collapsing.
"I'm too old for this... forgive me." She utters.

"Oh... That's sad.
Do we take it?
All the stuff?
Or leave it?"

Iruk eyes her uneasily, but says nothing. His hand feels like any other draconian's.
"The only thing special about this is that I'm not out of commission." He grumbles, after a moment.

 

"Come on, Hannah, e's still got to have 'is wings on." The fire guardian boss says, leading Iruk to a secure set of doors. The doors are multi-layered, each opening in different ways, before leading to a dark coloured room with a strong smell of smoke and gunpowder. A black sheet of thick looking glass resides on the opposite side of the room, a control panel against it.

"We'll 'ave an earth guardian take off your old wings and put the new ones on. Sound good squire?" The fire guardian asks, ushering Iruk into the room.

 

"Keyword's Elnimaqur." Iruk says. "Forget that, and I die."

 

"Aight." The fire guardian boss says, leaving Iruk in the room and closing the doors. The entire room is completely silent for a bit, Iruk completely alone.

 

Iruk is as silent as the room, bracing himself for the shutdown.

 

Eventually, a pair of fire guardians, an earth guardian, a water guardian and an air guardian step into view behind the black glass. The fire guardians keep watch as the other guardians focus. A storm cloud forms in the room, which keeps Iruk charged with electricity as he is gently lifted off the ground and his wings are delicately removed.

 

Once his wings are removed, it's clearer to see why he was bracing; his wings erupt into a vile liquid, eating at the walls it splashes on.
