The Shadow simply shrugs. She seems to have made quite a bit of progress on new generator chips.

It's been active for almost a year.

 

"But it's gone..."

Iruk eyes them closely.

Because it's a big story that's gone on for a long time.

 

"At the town. Where you came out of the book."

 

They seem to be quite intricately built, a few wires hanging out of ends that will presumably be attached to Iruk, as well as some large, glowing fuse-like parts that radiate energy.

 

"Oh... you think they're ready to feed anyone yet?"

Iruk takes another blade off his wing and scrapes off the gel.
"Can I test something?"

 

"Hm?" The Shadow asks, looking up curiously.

 

"Uh...probably not." Cecil thinks of a minute. "Do you think we can eat a summoned deer?"

 

"Those chips. I want to test something."

"If it was alive, probably."

 

"Only one way to find out. Set us down somewhere."

 

Kailee looks at the ground.
"That wasn't hard."

 

Cecil is going to summon a deer.

 

Kailee rips it apart the moment it's summoned, and it doesn't disappear.
"Hey, it's still here." She says, trying to look away from the corpse for your sake.

 

"So, how do we cook it? Do I throw a massive fireball, or you breathe fire on it?"

 

"Oh, well, alright." The Shadow says, handing Iruk a completed chip.

 

"I'll roast it." Kailee says, starting to cough up fire.

Iruk adds the gel, seeing how the chip's generator reacts.

 

Cecil watches, then realized something. "Isn't this going to cause a forest fire?!"
