Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Do you need help?" I ask.

 

Ren is startled again, swiping at you.
"Oh no, please-
King, I'm sorry!
I was startled.
Found a chest.
Can you open?" He asks, calming down slowly.

 

I nod, and then examine how it's locked.

 

The deadbolt keeps the box from opening at the joint.
At least, half the deadbolt is.

 

I try to melt the rest of the deadbolt off.

 

"Well, we are made of pure darkness." The Shadow says, chuckling.

 

It melts easily, except a bit of it welds the chest shut.

"Ruby... your king never warned you about Ruby?" Iruk asks, surprised. "She's been here the whole damn time."

 

(What is the chest made of?)

 

(A basic iron, not hard to keep breaking. Keep in mind Ren has broken claws)

 

"We heard Eve was sent after her, I presumed her dead." The Shadow says.

 

"Nope. Eve was called off her, too." Iruk says.

 

The Shadow just shrugs and goes back to her work.

 

"She did defy orders slightly out of frustration." Iruk says. "Maybe consider another update."

 

"I'm not in charge of her, the king is." The Shadow says, trying not to sound rude.

 

"Then the group will have an awkward tension for a while."

 

Keep on looking.

 

After a while, there's still nothing.
"How is the forest alive if nothing's there?"

 

"I don't have an answer for that." Is the forest overgrown? Or is it just like a regular forest?

 

"I don't know this world. Don't you know where this is?"

 

"I don't know exactly, but we're somewhere outside of Brisingr."
