Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I get some sun-like lights to help not screw up the dinosaur's circadian rhythms. I then try to find the robot by walking down the path from the zoo to the jail. Bowie flutters down from my shoulder with all four wings and walks by me.

 

Artemis' Flower pulses and glows.

A wooden Artemis grows in front of it, bow drawn. It walks over to you.

 

She trails you.
The bracelets work well. You don't even feel as much as a breeze as you pass through the barrier.

"Heh." I dive into the ground.

"You're not alone." Rineth whispers.

You get to the store, then feel sick, pass out.

When you come to, the sun's setting.
(Also, isn't your shoulder really close to the ground?)

Rineth eyes it carefully, placing Ihra gently on the ground.

 

The wooden Artemis tilts her head, looking over at Ihra.

 

Rineth stares the construct down.
"Don't touch her. The power isn't hers."

 

The wooden Artemis creaks.

"Mortem." It says in a far off voice, pointing toward Ihra,"Sors."

 

"Don't touch her..."
Rineth's claws radiate a slight dark fog.

 

"Pacem. Vitae. Amor." It creaks, staring at Rineth.

 

"Uh... I think I'll go now... But first--"

I reach into one of the sleeves of my robe, and throw out a broadsword shimmering with purity somehow, although it seems as though it couldn't have fit within my sleeves. It lands between Rineth and the wooden Artemis. As it lands, it seems to penetrate more than the ground; the air itself seems to resonate with its presence.

I look to 13.
"Make sure no one fights while I'm gone, 'kay? Now, I have a realm to revisit and people to keep from accidentally destroying everything. Toodle-oo!"

And I'm gone.

 

(Yes, but Bowie instinctively flutters when he falls.)
Lazarus waits to wake up.

 

"Puritas Arma."

 

The next few hours are relatively uneventful. The ground soon transitions into black rock, signifying the beginning of Brisingr.

 

You've woken up.
Halfway between the zoo and store.
Time looks normal again.

"I don't like where this is headed..."
Rineth lays down next to Ihra, staring at the wooden Artemis.
"Killing her won't change anything for the better."

"Okay," I reach out to you telepathically.
"Which do you recommend, apologize first or forest first? Also, exactly how far are they both from here?"

 

"Tranquillitas. Expergiscere Magister." The wooden Artemis creaks, approaching Rineth.

Artemis' Flower begins to pulse irregularly.

 

"Final warning."
Rineth's claws faintly glow.

 

Lazarus slinks away hoping no-one saw him.

 

Seems that you aren't the only one embarrased.
Or the only one that just blacked out.
Everyone around you, Bowie included, seems to be pulling themselves up, albeit at staggered times.

 

The wooden Artemis steps back a little.

The roots of Artemis' Flower begin to pulse, and the petals eventually open. Artemis steps out, a mysterious green liquid drips off of her. She looks refreshed.

"What's that thing doing here?" She asks, walking over to the wooden Artemis. It turns to face her.

 

"I don't understand it. It was staring down Ihra. If it's important to you, tell me now. Otherwise, it'll turn to dust momentarily."

 

Lazarus is speechless. He doesn't want to talk to anyone, so he goes home to check if it happened to the entire island.
