Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I intentionally make my steps louder as I approach Artemis as to not scare her.
"Hey, Artemis."
I say less loudly than I usually speak.

 

"Oh, hey Thirteen." Artemis says, still focused on healing.

 

"Do you have the time to meet someone? She's..."
I look around to see where exactly Eve is while continuing my sentence.

 

Eve's behind you, looking nervous.

 

"...Right here."
I say continuing my sentence, while side-stepping and holding a hand out for Eve.
"Her name is Eve."

 

"Oh, hey...Eve." Artemis says, pausing slightly as she sees Eve.

"Um, hi...I'm supposed to uh, protect you." Eve says nervously.

 

"Built and sent by Aj."
I say, reinforcing the confidence Artemis could have in Eve.

 

"Oh, strange. He never told me about you." Artemis says, looking to Eve.

"Um...I'm not really talked about much. He called me a secret project or something." Eve says nervously.

 

"Hm."
I say, taking the information in.
"Well, unless there's anything else you two want to say to each other, I think Artemis still has work to do, correct?"

 

"Yeah. Katie's pretty badly wounded. I think she somehow managed to sustain more wounds after the initial attack." Artemis says.

 

"Huh. That's weird. Any evidence of how that could happen?"
I suddenly become intrigued.

 

"Well, her hands seem pretty badly wounded, more than before. Plus, her wounds had opened up even more. I can only think she sustained the wounds while frozen, but that's surely impossible." Artemis says.

 

"Huh. Hopefully it works."

Nothing tactically useful. Just that crews are to be sent out in the morning to check for any signs of large ore veins.

 

"The only thing I don't understand is why the update didn't fully go through. Well, I guess that sorts that out." I say, shrugging and closing the code.

 

"Huh. Well, I hope it doesn't happen again. But anyways, I think we're off. Unless, Eve,"
I turn to Eve.
"Do you want to ask Artemis anything?"

 

"I suppose you could go return again now, maybe de-drug Ihra a bit."

 

Eve shakes her head hastily.

"What?" I ask.

 

"Just go look at Ihra, and don't tell her how undignified she seems right now." Ragnyon sighs.

 

"Alright. Let's not distract Artemis any further, then."
I say, walking away.

 

"Why do I need to de-drug her? Why was she doing drugs in the first place?" I ask, thoroughly confused.

Eve follows quickly.
