Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Ihra tries to heal Stephanie and give her more strength as she tries to get Stephanie to relax.

 

Stephanie shakes a little less, but she still clings onto Ihra.

 

Helianthus returns to the labyrinth and litters it with jewels.

 

"It'll be okay, you'll see. There won't be dying, not if I can help it..." She says, patting Stephanie on the back.

After a while, you find that despite collecting as many jewels as you did, you can only cover half the labyrinth - and there's not quite that many jewels left to cover the other half.

 

"T-Thanks Ihra," Stephanie says shakily, "I-I think L-Lidnis may be w-working against us."

 

"Lidnis?! Why? Why can't she have her own opinion? Sure, she has no emotions... as far as I can tell... but that doesn't automatically make her a bad person." Ihra says, concerned.

 

"Everything she's done has damaged us in some way...like, splitting you and Aj apart by scratching old scabs." Stephanie says.

 

"Are you sure? Aj wouldn't recover here... I can't give him more darkness. She got him to go home. She stood up for us and Aj with the whole power plant disaster... besides, Aj and I are closer than ever now, I think."

 

"I-I guess...but her motives appear to be a little...odd." Stephanie says.

"We all have our own secrets to keep, Stephanie. Even you." Myria says, almost appearing beside Stephanie.

"That's true." Stephanie says, seeming to lose her desire to argue.

 

"Heehee, Myria's kind of like all of our mothers." Ihra says happily.

 

"I've received that compliment many times, but it is still flattering. I try to treat people with the same care I treat Artemis." Myria says.

 

Ihra doesn't say anything, but she quickly becomes cross.
"You know, I still don't remember what happened to her blades..."

 

"Whose blades?" Myria asks.

 

"You know..." Ihra sighs. "Mother. Her twinblades, stained with the blood of gods. I hope they didn't get to the Hive Master..."

 

"Giving our greatest enemy such a boon would certainly not make killing him easier. I can only hope we find them before he." Myria says.

 

"Of course, but I doubt they scavenged around here. We'd have to go back to... um... where A-aj..." She trails off, barely holding herself together.

 

"I understand." Myria says, gently placing a hand on Ihra's shoulder and smiling warmly.

 

"Then, that leaves the next question; do we use them or try to hide them?"

 

"We hide them, and use them as an unseen attack against the hive master." Myria says.

 

Ihra seems uneasy, but nods.
"Good idea. We already know it can kill the Hive Master's retainers... if they could even be called that."
