It's at this moment that Helianthus checks with the larger prisoner if the labyrinth is done.

 

Everything's ready. Harpoons electrified, explosives rigged to trigger a landslide and collapse the ravine... the only thing you're missing is a treasure to act as bait.

 

Helianthus tells the largest prisoner, "Rest, I'll go out to look for some treasure."
He then goes out to look for treasure.

 

I notice, something, and walk away from Stephanie, interested.

 

"Thanks again for the job." Lidnis says, heading back towards the palace.

After a few hours of searching the ravine, there simply isn't anything that'd be a suitable bait treasure. You'd have to go somewhere else to get something sufficient to lure the group...

 

Helianthus thinks for a while, and then decides to steal an ability from a random creature in the Darklands.

 

"No problem!" Charlie says happily.

The city is still bustling with people, yet as Lidnis walks back to the palace, she feels like there's a constant set of eyes on her, watched, but not just by the occasional glances of people moving through the city.

 

Lidnis turns around, keeping her cloak on tight as she goes.

 

Just more people, but she can feel the eyes on her coming from somewhere, always on her; stalking her.

Eventually, Lidnis comes to a block in the road, guarded by what appears to be the police. They don't look like they're letting anyone through, and most people head down a side road that leads away from the palace. There is, however, an alley Lidnis could slip through to get around the block.

 

Lidnis breaks for the alley, hiding even her eyes as she goes.

 

Lidnis feels the eyes on her still, and eventually she can feel them chasing her from behind.

 

Lidnis turns sharply in the middle of the alleyway, putting a chronodistortion barrier up to cover her back.

 

She can still feel herself being followed, a little further away, but the feeling is still there.

 

She removes the barrier and continues towards the palace.
"You are terrible with stealth." She mutters.

 

Lidnis can feel the presence getting closer and closer to her.

 

Lidnis stops and waits for it.

 

Eventually, Lidnis feels something pawing at her leg.

 

Lidnis looks down at it, otherwise unmoving.

 

It's a black cat, looking up at Lidnis; its tail lazily moving side to side. It meows at Lidnis.

 

"Hello there, kitty. Why were you following me?" Lidnis asks, not expecting a response as she blankly stares at the cat.
