Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Thanks..." I say, limping the opposite direction.

 

"N-no... I'm so sorry!" He whimpers, pushing Artemis out carefully as he curls up just as tight as he had before.

"No, you probably would've died. The foe could only be hurt by Aj. You're too new here to go blaming yourself; again, he's only wounded. We're not done fighting until we're dead." Ihra says, trying to cheer Crystal up.

 

Artemis gasps for air once she's free, before heading over to Stephanie; who seems to be regaining consciousness.

 

"Could've been moved. Or blocked."
He mumbles again.
"Some of us almost did die, Ihra. I could've done something."
He says, looking up towards Ihra.

 

She notices Ihra slink off out of sight.

"Almost. But nobody did. Besides, we all have our own problems, right? That was just proof." Ihra says before ducking off behind buildings, though it's clear her demeanor isn't normal in the slightest.

 

Stephanie summons a small crystal golem.

"Become my eyes. Follow Ihra" Stephanie says to it, before placing it on the ground. The golem follows Ihra.

 

Just recovering, Stephanie's a bit slow; the golem is put down too late to find Ihra. After minutes of searching, she's nowhere to be found.

 

The golem returns to Stephanie, who picks it back up.

Stepahnie sighs, "Damn..." She says.

 

As she picks the golem up, there's a strange turquoise gem that falls to the ground.
It quickly unravels into tiny threads that soon become impossible to see or trace as they scatter.

 

Crystal just slumps his head down, and stops moving.

Meanwhile, I arrive back at the group, walking up to Artemis, and tapping her on the shoulder.
"Hey. Everyone doing fine from the attack?"
I ask her.

 

Stephanie watches the gem before passing it off as nothing important.

"Yeah, everyone's been healing well; Stephanie's conscious." Artemis says.

 

Ruby soon returns.
"Aj will recover. As usual."


Lidnis taps you gently on the shoulder.
"Allow me to escort you to your healing facilities. I want to thank you for letting me go."

 

"Ughn, thanks." I say weakly.

 

"You concern me, shadow being. You overshot the portal to your home." Lidnis says flatly, gently turning you around a corner.

 

"I don't need to go home, I have a healer here." I say.

 

"No, you need to go home. This world does not have the darkness you need to heal your soul."

 

"That's good." I say.

 

I smile, nod, and tap Stephanie on the shoulder.
"How are you feeling?"

 

"Ugh...fine..." I say, disappearing.

Artemis smiles.

"Painful." Stephanie says.

 

"You left no portal trace. Hiding will not heal your wounds." Lidnis says, forcing a telepathic link.
"Go home. Ihra needs all of your strength; not just the fraction your friend can help you recover."
