Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I follow Stephanie, curious.

 

Stephanie ducks through some buildings, eventually hiding in one and starting to get changed into some clothes she summons; sighing.

 

I look away for the clothes-changing part, but for the most part I keep her is my vision.

 

Stephanie seems to change into an expensive looking fur coat and hat, as well as applying some dark purple lipstick and eyeliner; before putting on a pair of high heels and walking out of the room. Once Stephanie notices you, however, she jumps back, surprised.

"O-Oh, hey..." Stephanie says nervously.

 

"Hey. Just wanted to make sure you didn't get jumped."
I clarify.

 

"Oh. Uhm...thanks." Stephanie says, clearly embarrassed, shown by her red face.

 

"Hey, there's nothing to be embarrassed of."
I console her.

 

"I-I guess...but, I wanted to put on a facade that I was a different person, and that kind of doesn't work when you've seen me change." Stephanie says.

 

I smile, making the motion of zipping my lips.

 

Stephanie smiles back, before a flash of light blinds your vision. There's a gasp from Stephanie, and once the flash fades away, Stephanie falls on you; a sword rammed through her torso. Stephanie weakly grabs onto you before falling to the ground, blood spilling everywhere.

 

"Oh, shit!"
I exclaim, grabbing the rag out of my pocket, and crouching down, checking if she's alive, or even conscious.

 

Stephanie seems to be barely conscious, but she'll be dead soon if she doesn't get help immediately.

"Th-Thir-*cough*" Stephanie attempts to speak, coughing up a lot of blood.

 

"Shh. Close your mouth."
I say, lifting her up, supporting her by the back, with the rag in my hand to stop the bleeding where the sword is.

As quickly and methodically as I can, I make my way back to the group that Stephanie left from.

 

"Are the corpses mutilated? It seems that mutilated corpses cause more psychological damage. Even more so if the corpses were of those the target knew."

 

Stephanie cries, "I-It...hurts...I-I d-...d-don't w-want to...d-die..." She says weakly.

Once you get back to the group, you notice Artemis seems to have returned and has started healing Katie; vines wrapped around the ice. She seems shocked when you bring Stephanie back.

"What happened!?" Artemis explains, rushing over.

"It depends. Some are left untouched, while others are extremely mutilated," Myria says, getting up and drawing her Scythe, "Now, if you'll excuse me, we have an emergency to deal with."

 

"Some guy blinded me, stuck a sword through Stephanie, and disappeared." I relay.

 

"Oh god, not another attack." Artemis says, wrapping vines around Stephanie.

"She's close to death, but she can be saved. Thank you for bringing her here so quickly." Myria says, walking over and slowly removing the sword from Stephanie's torso.

Stephanie weakly reaches out to you.

 

I nod and head over to the rest of the group.

"Another attack?" I say.

 

"Seems like it."

"No problem."
I say, touching Stephanie's hand and stroking it.

 

Stephanie smiles weakly, before falling unconscious.

"This is a sharp sword, made to cut bone." Myria says, observing the now-removed sword. Vines cover over Stephanie's wound as moss begins to grow within it.

"I can't believe this is happening." Artemis says, shocked as she focuses on her healing.
